I have 2 Learn to Sew In a Weekend classes coming up 🪡
🗓️ Sat/Sun 24th/25th Oct & 14th/15th Nov
⏰10-4.30 each day
These are my full Absolute Beginners classes condensed into a weekend for those who cannot commit to several weeks. You’ll learn how to use a sewing machine, make a bag & a pair of PJ bottoms, gaining essential sewing techniques & confidence to sew independently 🪡

If you’ve got less time, how about the Learn to Sew In A Day class, this is the last one this year!

Learn to thread up a machine & make a beautiful fully lined tote bag to either keep or give as a gift, (if you can bear to part with it!)

Both these classes are aimed at complete novices but also suitable for anyone who is returning to sewing & needs a refresher aged 14+

Don’t worry if you don’t have a machine, I provide all the equipment & machines, maybe you’ll get the sewing bug & add a new sewing machine to the Christmas wish list 📋

🧵It’s sewing week in the middle of Lidl this week . The silver crest sewing machines are £79.99 & sewing trolley bags are £14.99, great for transporting your machines to sewing class. These aren’t recommendations as I don’t have any experience using them, Lidl used to sell the Singer machines which were perfect for entry level sewing.
I don’t recommend the packs of multi-coloured thread that they sell for machine sewing tbh, who needs every single colour of the rainbow 🌈 plus there’s not enough on each reel to make a great deal & the quality isn’t great but fine for small projects of hand sewing.🪡

Just 2 spaces left for the Ruffle Wreath Workshop at the Stitch Make Create Studio on Friday 2nd October 7-9 with Sabrina Soulfully stitched
Join her for a lovely evening of crafting & make either an Autumn or Halloween themed wreath with all materials provided, no sewing experience required. This would be a lovely way to spend an evening with friends. Plus an extra date has been added on Thursday 15th October if you can’t make the 2nd.

Thought I’d just highlight some of the wonderful things that the Improvers group have been working on.
Debbie has made 2 gorgeous project bags out of her mum’s old curtains, one for herself & one for her daughter, such a lovely way to remember her mum 🤗
Christine wore her 1940s inspired dungarees to an event this weekend, doesn’t she look fab 😍
I showed Miranda how to clone her favourite T-shirt so she can make them in whatever fabric she likes, knowing it will fit 👚
You can work on any project that you want at the improvers classes, it doesn’t have to be dressmaking, classes are fun & informal with me on hand to help you out with the tricky bits!

Tuesday evening’s beginners class has got off to a flying start! Their tote bags are completed & we have cut out the fabric & started sewing the pyjama bottoms. If you think it’s time you learnt how to sew, I’ve been busy putting on lots of classes onto the website for daytime, evenings, weekends, adults, kids & teens.
