This piece just makes me smile 😊💜
Combination of traditional and modern.
Wool/cotton batting layer and pure wool interliner applied to add comfort and help preserve the traditional materials beneath.
Final photo is of a chair I completed for the same lovely lady a while back 🙏❤️

Finally 'turned' this retro swivel chair around 😄 Glorious deep green bouclé 👌
Arrived without cushions ... a shell of its former self 😯 Reconstructed following consultation and a little research 🎓
Now a super comfy chill chair ✌️😊💚🌏♻️

I have 3 genuine Ercol chairs that I can't hoard any longer 😭 One is in great condition, one needs webbing replaced and the other needs frame repaired. Happy to make cushions. Message me if interested. 😊♻️🌏💚

Three more chairs completed at Wirral Environmental Network as part of their weekly volunteer 'Reclaimers' project. Green botanical theme. Three more to go 😁😊💚 Looking for new items to reupholster. The fridge maybe 😆 or Naomi's bike.
Met the new volunteer coordinators. Lots of new opportunities coming soon.

I confess 🫣... yes, I have a pattern matching obsession 😆
A pair of solid oak antique chairs with great sentimental value.
This stunning 'Forest' fabric by Morris & Co, was designed in 2013 by Alison Gee. It was directly inspired by the original 'Forest' fabric created by William Morris, John Dearle and Philip Webb in 1887. The green velvet piping highlights it's beauty.
William Morris 1834 to1896 and his designs remain highly prized ❤️.

This beauty hid a sinister secret. MOTHS! Lots of them! The larvae of these tiny rice like critters (likely tineola biselliella) were happily munching their way through the interior.
A complete traditional rebuild was the only option.
Wood treated and polished, rebuild as previous and new luxurious super soft floral velvet cover fabric, with pewter decorative studs replacing original dull rusty. 🌏♻️💚

Reclaimers volunteer session at Wirral Environmental Network every Tuesday 10-12. One chair rescued per session. Each with a different flora/fauna theme. Five completed....lots in the waiting room! 😱😆 (pre makeover pics at the end). If you have a couple of spare hours come and join us.
The Centre was buzzing on Tues with happy folk prepping for the fair this Sat. Sooo many beautiful plants, handmade crafts, rescued furniture and lots more 🤗🌿🌹🐝🌎♻️💚
