Colne Valley Blooms Dried flower grower and floral artisan

Most commercially produced dried flowers are grown on large-scale farms specifically for the dried flower industry. They can be harvested in huge quantities, dried in industrial facilities and sometimes dyed, bleached or treated before being packaged and shipped around the world. 🌍

Large-scale flower production can also have an environmental impact — from land use and intensive farming practices to pesticides, fertilisers, water consumption and the loss of habitats that support bees, butterflies and other wildlife. 🐝🦋

That’s one of the reasons I love growing my own flowers. 🌸

My flowers are grown by me here in Yorkshire, harvested and grown naturally in line with the seasons, and then dried in small batches, and I never ship my flowers outside of the UK.
Growing a mixture of flowers, grasses and seed heads also means creating a little space for pollinators and other garden wildlife throughout the growing season. 🌿🐝

So when you buy from Colne Valley Blooms, you’re not just buying dried flowers…

You’re buying flowers with a story and a heart. ❤️

Grown by me. Dried by me. Made by me.

A slow Sunday in the garden

06/08/2026

We welcome new babies with them. We carry them on our wedding day. We give them to say thank you, I’m sorry, congratulations, and I love you. We fill our homes with them to celebrate the changing seasons, and we leave them in memory of those we’ve lost.

Flowers become part of our stories.

That’s why I grow every flower with care… so your memories can last a little longer.”

“What moment do flowers remind you of most?

As Lughnasadh marks the beginning of the harvest season, it’s a gentle reminder to pause and appreciate what has grown with time, patience, and care. Every stem I pick today began as a tiny seed, and each one will be carefully dried to preserve a little piece of summer long into the darker months.

Today I’m harvesting not just flowers, but moments of gratitude—for nature, the seasons, the pollinators, and the joy of creating something beautiful with my own hands. 🌼💛

Fresh this season! 🌸✨

I’m excited to share some of my newest handmade dried flower wreaths, created using flowers I’ve grown this summer. Every wreath is carefully handcrafted, making each one completely unique, approx size 30x30cm

All of the wreaths shown are available for a special local collection price of just £25. If you’re further afield, they can also be posted anywhere in the UK through my Etsy shop https://colnevalleyblooms.etsy.com
(please note the price listed here is for local collection only)

I also can make wreaths and arrangements to order, so if there isn’t a colour or style here that suits please ask and I will be happy to help where I can as I’m harvesting new flowers every week.

Thank you for supporting a small business that grows, dries and creates everything by hand. 💛
