❤️Did you know?❤️
I first fell in love with floristry at just 16 years old, while searching for a Mother’s Day gift for my own mum. I remember looking at the flowers and thinking, “I could do this… and I could do it better.”
That moment changed everything.
I began in my dad’s big brown wooden shed — as big as my shop is now — with holly around my ankles and flowers everywhere I looked. It was messy, chaotic, and full of love, and it was where my journey truly began. From there, I became a local florist in Ilkeston, working for other businesses and learning the craft from the ground up.
Life took me in a different direction for a while. I moved up the career ladder and became a tutor, supporting young adults who weren’t being properly supported in mainstream education. Floristry never left me though — I still worked with flowers at weekends. After suffering a stroke, I was forced to slow down and really listen to my body. That’s when I realised it was time to return to what my heart had always known.
I went back to my old boss, who offered me the chance to buy the business. It felt scary, but it felt right — so of course, I said yes.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving thousands of wonderful customers, training my daughter to become a florist, and occasionally having my two grandchildren help design the shop window. We’ve moved shop three times, but our heart has never changed.
We are known for our beautiful, bespoke arrangements — whether for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, or farewells. Every arrangement is made with care, pride, and deep respect for the moments they represent.
This business is more than flowers. It’s family, resilience, love, and learning every single day. Thank you for supporting our small, family-run florist — it truly means more than you’ll ever know.
