Morning coffee by the garden, muddy boots coming back through, or simply opening the doors when the weather allows - this sunroom and porch give daily life more room to happen. For this 250+-year-old home, they combine a post-and-beam structure with European oak top-hung flush casements and European oak French doors, creating a natural connection with the home and the garden.

By Friday night, every corner of this space is being put to work. Pints are ordered, doors swing open, coats come off, and before long everyone's looking for the cosiest spot. The joinery has to look good through all of it.

William takes on whatever the job calls for, from oak framing and window and door production to fine cabinetry, and does it all with the kind of attitude that makes him someone the whole team counts on. Since achieving his Level 2 in Bench Joinery, he's kept developing his skills and quietly become one of the most dependable people in the workshop.

The first step through the door should feel just as thoughtful as the room beyond it. Rich wood tones, curved details, classic hardware, and the small details give this entrance its unique character, from the door handle to the panelling.

A quiet homage to where it all begins.
Before the workshop, before the cutting, sanding, and fitting, there's the forest, the source of every grain, knot, and every bit of character that eventually finds its way into your home.

This kitchen has a job most would never expect, catering for up to 60 guests while still working for daily meals. In this 17th-century stately home, Mylands' 'Cooking Apple Green' and 'Serpentine' pair with a traditional cornice, wide-plank oak worktops, and antique brass crackle handles and k***s.

Display cabinets give cherished keepsakes a designated place, while generous storage keeps cookware and serving dishes organised. Behind the cabinetry, hidden tunnels once connected the main hall to the East Wing before it was demolished in the early 1900s. Repurposed by the client, they now provide an opening for large deliveries, bringing a fascinating part of the property's history into daily use.

Getting ready is much easier when everything has its own place.

Farrow & Ball's 'Mouse's Back' gives the cabinetry a warm, grounded feel, and up close, the oak veneer interiors and antique-brass hardware stand out. The desk is topped with wide-plank European oak, and the media cabinet has a matching solid oak top. With thirteen drawers and adjustable shelving, there's room for daily favourites as well as the clothes that usually end up on the nearest chair. Designed, crafted, and fitted entirely by our own team, it all comes together as one space rather than a set of separate parts.

Period homes often have the kind of details people notice without thinking about them, from the way morning light comes through a window to the sound of rain against the glass. For this Grade II listed property, planning consent was secured, and the European oak windows were designed and crafted with true glazing bars rather than astragals to respect the building's heritage.

Finished in our 'Light Oak' colour with a UV-protective weather oil, the windows complement the sunroom and stable door designed, crafted, and installed in 2025. Traditional-style antique black monkey-tail hardware, multi-point locking, and stainless steel black-coated butt hinges complete the design, bringing traditional character together with the performance needed for daily life.
