Sea holly (Eryngium) is a striking genus of over 250 species of architectural, thistle-like perennials featuring spiny, silvery-blue foliage and metallic, cone-shaped flower heads surrounded by spiky bracts. Despite its common name and prickly leaves, it belongs to the carrot and parsley family (Apiaceae) rather than the true holly or thistle families.
Plant Characteristics & Types
• Appearance: Features metallic blue, silver, or purple-tinted flower spikes that bloom from midsummer to autumn.
• Foliage: Leathery, spiky, and often marbled with white or silver veins.
Growing and Care Requirements

One that all my neighbours talk about – really beautiful climber and grows very fast. First 2 photos are my giant mother plant!

Fragrant, star-shaped, bluish-white flowers with tiny, yellow centres from June to September and glossy, dark green leaves. This jasmine-scented climber is valuable for covering sheltered walls or for growing through other shrubs or climbers. A fast-growing woody climber reaching 8m. It has green, semi-evergreen leaves and white flowers in clusters through late summer into autumn.
To avoid dry conditions, and to ensure good soil contact around the rootball, we advise planting climbers at least 30cm (12in), and preferably 45-60cm (18-24in) away from the base of a wall or fence. An even larger d distance should be maintained when planting climbers beside an existing tree or shrub.

Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly while it’s establishing, and apply a layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Provide a sturdy support or trellis for the climber and train young shoots along it, tying in gently.

Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and remove any weak or crossing stems; occasional harder pruning in early spring can rejuvenate older plants. Once established, it is fairly low-maintenance, producing abundant clusters of violet-blue flowers through summer.

Gaura 'rosy white' (also known as Gaura lindheimeri or Oenothera lindheimeri) is a popular perennial garden plant featuring delicate, star-shaped flowers that open white and turn pink as they age. It grows in tall, airy stems up to 80–160 cm high and blooms continuously from early summer through the first autumn frosts.
Plant Care and Growing Conditions
• Sunlight: Plant in full sun to partial shade; full sun gives the best flower color and keeps the stems strong.
• Soil: Prefers light, fertile, and well-drained soil. It handles drought well once its roots are set.
• Watering: Keep young plants moist. Water mature plants only during long dry spells.
• Pruning: Cut the old stems back to about 15 cm from the ground in early spring to encourage fresh growth.

Care Guidelines
