What are Friday Flowers?

Bunches of croft grown flowers, simply bunched together, tied with string and wrapped in paper, ready for you to arrange at home. The closest thing I do to the supermarket bunches, but guaranteed free of pesticides and single use plastic. £15 a bunch.

Order before Thursday for collection from the croft on Fridays.

To order, send me a dm and I'll send you a payment link. Alternatively, head over to my website and sign up to a 3 or 6 bunch subscription for the summer.

A snapshot of some of the flowers that will be going into bunches this week.

Aquilegia's, geums, alliums, orlaya, hesperis, and for scent there's sweet cicely and the first few sweet peas...oh, and there may be peonies, if the weather plays nicely.

If you stay in my wee holiday let, you'll be welcomed by a vase of hastily arranged flowers from the flower field.

The Strawbale Bothy is warm and bright and it has become a bit of a test bed where I test for the longevity and 'neglect factor' of the flowers I grow and sell.

Fresh flowers are placed in the Bothy just before check in, and then 3 or 4 days later, I'll get the Bothy ready for the next guests and check on the condition of the flowers.

I'm hoping the buds of Geranium Mrs Kendall Clark will have continued to open. The Thalictrum was fully out, so after 4 days I'm expecting it to have shattered the tiny filaments of petals all over the place. I'm hoping that the buds of Aquilegia Nora Barlow will have continued to open and the open flowers will 'look' okay, but shatter when touched or moved. The Stock Pillow talk will have gone over, but hopefully the room will still be full of its glorious rich clove like fragrance.

And of course, there will be an inch, if any, of slimy, dirty water at the bottom of the vase🤭.

Your flowers really will last longer if you change the water and re trim the stems.
