I'm full time mummy and home educator to two beautiful offspring and wife to a very understanding, supportive and amazing husband! I have always loved to be creative, it was around 2007 that I had the time and patience to pursue my love of creativity. N extending our family unit I decided it was time to follow my dre

am and allowed Creations by a Butterfly to hatch...

It took a while, just like any butterfly..... I started out as a little caterpillar making cards and gifts for family and friends, now I'm proud to have a number of crafts that I can put my wings too! Blanket progress because I can’t not show it off 🧶

This one’s made with the same vintage crochet pattern shown last week, which means: lots of texture, lots of character, and stitches that clearly knew what they were doing back in the day.

It’s slowly becoming one of those “accidentally nap for two hours” kind of blankets—soft, cozy, and very hard to put down.

Taking its sweet time, but that’s the joy of handmade (and the price we pay for peak coziness).

So the past two weekends have really helped me discover that I’m creative and nothing can be done about it!!

It’s my happy place!!!

Between crafting away in the cabin I have been helping local drama club richingsplayers get ready for their panto this week!!

From painting ‘flats’ in various designs to stuffing the dames bra - it’s been so much fun and I have met some amazing like minded people too!!

The sewing machine has come out of retirement - she was a bit tetchy about that - but we’re friends again now!!

Couldn’t resist at gone 1am blinging up Miss’s N’s skates… now time for sleep before more sewing and creativity tomorrow!!

So the past week has been a little crazy!!

Spent a lot of my time monitoring a certain moody moo as she hasn’t been herself, not eating and more moody than normal!!

A trip to the vet has found that the treatment we have been using for fleas doesn’t agree with her…. And although regularly treated - it’s having zero effect…. However the other two are fine!??

So now back on the good stuff along with some steroids for the next three weeks….. she is finally less moody!!!

So with being on cat watch it’s given me time to work on some smaller crochet projects and can’t wait to meet my little model in the next few weeks… she is just having a few more weeks in the warm!!!

Struggles to get to sleep… one of those nights where you drop off to sleep but it’s for like 7 minutes and you’re awake ...

Struggles to get to sleep… one of those nights where you drop off to sleep but it’s for like 7 minutes and you’re awake with one of those moments of falling …. and then your not sure what to do….

Then your trying to go back to sleep and you end remember if your on row 6 or 7 of the pattern….

Then your head starts this six seven shizzle that you don’t understand and start thinking whatzzzuppppp

Yeah I’m rather confuzzled at nearly 4am - I just don’t get it!!!

Well I did say the butterfly was back…. So what else could I do but flutter between multiple projects… It’s been a LONG ...

It’s been a LONG time since this baby has been used…. Honestly I think she has sat around since 2021, just looking over at me dying to be used!!!

And I can say I created this file too!!! And there will be a lot more of this throughout the year, a very special job is hopefully coming my way!!!
