(1)

At Chapelhead Crafts, we believe retired oak casks have great potential to be turned into furniture and gifts. Their shape, texture, grain and often aroma, emanates something which is unrivalled against other woods. resulting in unique crafts often designed to client requirements. For us, every cask is full of possibilities with inspiration for new creations and ideas. Each cask we use is sourced here in Speyside, home of the Malt Whisky Trail in Scotland.

If you require any information, have an idea or a request please contact us – We are more than happy to help.

A bespoke clock with history, meaning and military pride 🫡

Created to mark a very special 20 year milestone in a military career, this unique clock features the Royal Engineers insignia and the motto “Ubique Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt” - “Everywhere, where right and glory lead.”

One particularly meaningful detail is the bullet casing positioned above the 11, marking the 11th hour and adding a poignant touch of symbolism and remembrance to the design.

At the centre, the Lincolnshire flag adds a personal touch and a connection to home.

The natural character of the reclaimed oak, original cask hoops and carefully laser engraved details come together to create a piece full of character and personal significance.

The customer’s lovely feedback was the icing on the cake 🙏 Knowing how much thought went into the design and hearing how pleased they were with the finished clock, makes all the time and care worthwhile.

Every commission tells a story and it's been a real pleasure bringing this one to life.

A very bespoke set of concave wh**ky flights, crafted from reclaimed oak staves, giving those special drams the presentation they deserve.

🥃 Every stave tells a different story, as each one has been selected from a different wh**ky cask, with its own unique character, colouring and history. The underside of each flight engraved to identify its original cask, adding a little talking point to every dram served.

We cant wait to see how our client christen them 🎉 🥃

It’s always a pleasure when a returning client gets back in touch, even better when they’ve become friends along the way 😊

This time, I was asked to create something to mark a very special 50th anniversary. A bespoke solid oak wh**ky cask clock, featuring a detailed map of Scotland’s wh**ky regions and distilleries.

But there’s a little more to this one… with the rear engraved with a personalised message, making it a completely unique keepsake that you simply can’t buy off the shelf.

Slàinte mhath to you all and a happy birthday Simon 🎁

This bespoke side table gives authentic wh**ky cask staves a brand new life. From the natural curve of the legs to the rich, deep w**e stained oak detailing underneath, every inch tells a story of Scottish heritage and craft.

Designed as a unique bedside companion, it fits seamlessly alongside the bed perfect for holding a nightstand, a late night dram, or a quiet morning cup of tea.

A huge thank you to our lovely Orkney clients for commissioning this piece, it was a true pleasure to make!

This one is a little bit special to us. ❤️

Ghillie was our big lad, a huge part of our family for 14 years, but sadly we had to say goodbye to him a few weeks ago. 💔

So creating this piece was always going to be something very close to our hearts. Crafted from reclaimed oak, it gives a beautiful old piece of cask a new life as a lasting tribute to our very special mate.

It’ll take pride of place outside our gate, where Ghillie often greeted people coming into Chapelhead 🐾

Run free big lad. You’ll always be part of us ❤️‍🩹

It was an absolute pleasure crafting these bespoke wh**ky flight boards for our clients at Black Ivy Bar & Hotel in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh.

Handcrafted from authentic oak wh**ky cask staves, each piece features laser engraved custom branding and finished off with original steel barrel hoop accents for that perfect blend of rustic and refined craft. Complete with recessed tartan inserts chosen to represent the Black Ivy name, they will hold dram glasses for tasting flights.

Giving reclaimed oak a second life while helping elevate the dram tasting experience in the Scottish capital is what it's all about. If you're visiting Black Ivy soon, keep an eye out for these at the bar!
