🌻 Remembering dearest Ellice… 🌻

I’m always so blessed and privileged when Kirstin & Fraser at Café U ask me to work my floral magic — but this time, they asked me to do something a little different… decorating the front door of the Murray family home in Birgham.

And goodness me… I think I may just have blown Mrs Murray away! 🥰🌻

Over 200 sunflowers have gone into this very special doorway, lovingly created to honour dearest Ellice, on what would have been her 21st birthday weekend. 💛

An enormous amount of love, care and thought has gone into every little detail — and now, with Kirstin & Fraser’s kind permission, you’re all invited to pop by, have a look and take a lovely, cheerful photograph at the door for Ellice. 📸🌻

Let’s fill the weekend with sunshine, smiles and happy memories as we celebrate a beautiful young lady, an amazing character, and a life that was heartbreakingly taken far too soon.

Because celebrating Ellice means keeping her memory alive — and what better way than with 200+ bright, happy sunflowers! 🌻💛

Right… confession time. 🙈🌸

I’ve not been quite myself lately.

I’ve been battling some pretty horrendous anxiety, and if I’m honest, it’s knocked my confidence — both personally and in my work.

I’m not after sympathy, honestly. I just wanted to be open about it, because I know how many lovely people genuinely care and wish me well.

I love what I do. I love my flowers, my customers, the people I meet and my little empire! ❤️

So, to every single person who orders, recommends me, likes, shares, comments, sends a message, or simply tells someone about Flowers by McKenzie — thank you.

You probably don’t realise just how much your support means to me. It genuinely means the absolute world. 💐

I am absolutely determined to put that smile on, crack on and keep doing what I love. Every now and again, though, my tiara slips… and I just have to stop and readjust it! 👑😂

I’m slowly getting my mojo back, one day at a time.

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another day on planet earth! Bienvenue!

A busier end to the week last week than anticipated, with beautiful flowers going out in all directions! Some travelling south, some going to sunny Duns, others travelling a bit further north and even some in Kelso!

I’m always happy to help whenever I can and it makes me so happy to know my flowers are appreciated!

If you’ve been the recipient or indeed the sender of my flowers, I would really appreciate a little review on Google! It doesn’t need to be much…even just how ‘totes maze the florist was!’ 🙊🙊🙊😂😂😂

Another busy week ahead. Lots of appointments for events coming up towards the word that everyone dreads…Mariah is slowly thawing…just slowly!

A very good morning lovely people of Kelso and beyond!

What a busy weekend I had, between flowering, delivering and being a stall holder at the Kelso Antique Market, hosted at Springwood and ‘churching’! All good fun!

Lots of beautiful flowers have left the studio over the past week and as always I feel deeply privileged that I get asked to provide such things for lovely people.

We never know what’s ahead of us, thankfully, but a happy change is afoot for me. Watch this space as they say! 😉 and IYKYK, but 🤫🤫🤫!

One of my favourite songs, and also two of my favourite more ‘informal’ styled hand-ties in water that I have designed recently. A very countrified, ethereal style; as if I’ve just been to the garden.

Styles do change over time I think, and often it’s good to have your own and stick to it. People get to know it, and the quality of your flowers. I am very much a believer that if you put a little love and attention to detail, it shines through.

Flowers and music to me are like a gift from above, and I’ll be forever grateful that I get to share that with you all on a daily basis.

Blue and white was very much the colour of the week and weekend for both Kelso Civic Week and our clients family wedding last week.

Displays of blue delphiniums, limonium, alchemilla molis, clematis, off white roses, antirrhinum, agapanthus, blue hydrangea & some of the most beautiful homegrown eryngiums I’ve ever used (but they were very jaggy!). All beautifully arranged (if I do say so myself 💅🏼🙊😇) in my late Granny’s blue and white China! 💙

On a side note, if I don’t answer the phone, it’s not because I don’t want to…it’s most likely because I can’t. Or if I do answer and say I’ll call you back - PANIC YE NOT…I will always call you back. It might take a day! Or you can always WhatsApp me for an even speedier response!

A very good morning!
Happy Tuesday. A little cooler to say the least this morning…perhaps a welcome break in the sunshine? 🌞 Hope the sun isn’t away for too long!
Delighted to be back in the studio creating beautiful arrangements for lovely people!

Pointe notice: I won’t be working on Saturday this week as I’ve got a full on weekend of arrangements for a wedding party and two concerts to sing at too. It’s all go!
