Next Friday Evening! Flouer’s holding a Peony Bouquet Making Garden Party in the Hirsel estate’s Walled Garden. 12th of June. 6pm for 6.30pm start. 8.30pm end. I’ll be teaching you how to make a huge peony bouquet - including some of our Popular, Special & Premium Collection Peonies. Along with seasonal flowers and foliage. £36/person (incl VAT). You take away your big blousy peony bouquet and have a lovely evening in the walled garden with it. You’re very welcome to sign up in a group (we have lots of space), or as an individual, and you can BYOB of fizz and snacks (as long as you promise to behave - a little). I’m often asked - “What do you do if you don’t sell all your peony stems in a season”. And often, I overlook the fact that people think that all the stems should be cut off the plant each season which is absolutely NOT the case. And this is why there SHOULD be the spectacle of peonies in full bloom remaining on the plant (presuming you don’t take the flower heads off immediately before flowering) even when you’ve already cropped that variety for the year. You should be only cutting about 1/3 of the stems each year - so that this long lived perennial plant can photosynthesise with the remaining stems and feed the roots for next year’s flowers. This is the proper and correct management of a peony crop - long term. And this is why my peonies are the biggest and strongest blooms and plants in the business (prove me otherwise). We are well set up here for a bit of a breezy day - the peonies are used to it. We have MANY Popular to quite Rare Varieties of White Peonies - often highly scented and with beautiful texture and form. So, we’ve created Flouer’s White Peony Edit. Pink Hawaiian Coral Peony. Already sold out, I’m afraid. Equal in size to the Coral Sunsets, but with a slightly pointed petal edge and a pale frosting to the tips.
