Still looking for something to do with the kids this Saturday? It's not too late to book onto our Halloween Paper Mache Mask Workshop! 👻

Children aged 6+ can come along and make their own wonderfully weird papier-mâché mask from scratch, using clay, paper mâché, scrap and recycled materials to create something completely unique.

This Saturday 24th October | 2 - 3pm
£7.50 per child
Children must be accompanied.

Can’t make it this weekend? We’re doing it all again on Saturday 31st October, so you can book ahead for that one too!

Nodding along to a few of those slides? We have a seat for your child at our weekly art club 🎨

Our Kids Art Club is a relaxed, friendly weekly space for children aged 5 - 11 to experiment, get messy, try new creative processes and make things simply because they love making them.

There’s no pressure to create something “perfect” and no expectation that everyone makes the same thing. It’s about curiosity, confidence, imagination and having the freedom to explore.

Across the block we’ll dip into everything from painting and sculpture to clay, printmaking, recycled crafts and more.

Thursdays | 4–5pm
5th November – 17th December

If your little one loves getting messy our Pre-School Clay Play session is something they'll love.

We're talking clay kitchens serving up some rather questionable mud pies, tiny animal homes, bridges, ramps and plenty of opportunities to squish, shape and explore.

This isn't about making something perfect to take home. It's all about the joy of getting stuck in, exploring different textures, sparking imaginations and letting little hands lead the way.

And the best bit? All the messy fun happens at Ragtags, not in your kitchen!

We've got a brilliant line-up of ceramic workshops coming to Ragtag's this Autumn & Winter, with something for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned makers.

Whether you fancy a creative evening out, a festive activity with the family or a little time to yourself, come get your hands stuck into some clay and make something you'll be proud to show off!

Here's what we've got coming up…

😍 November Clay Club - A weekly beginners club to learn and create beautiful hand built ceramics each week.

✨ Makers & Munchkins - A relaxed morning of making for grown-ups while little ones play and explore. This time we'll be creating gorgeous ceramic tealight houses.

🔥 Ragtag After Dark - Our evening workshops are perfect for a creative night out (ps. BYOB!) Join us to make ceramic wall altars, beautiful handmade candlestick holders and our limited edition after dark paint a pot sessions!

💛 Christmas Ceramics Sunday - A whole Sunday dedicated to making your very own Christmas trio, including tree decorations, candlestick holders and a miniature tealight house.

🎨 Christmas Paint a Pot - Our drop-in Paint a Pot is getting festive, with NEW Christmas ceramics including baubles, Christmas trees, Santa and elf mugs and lots more!

Whether you're making decorations for your home, thoughtful handmade gifts or simply enjoying a bit of creative time for yourself, we'd love to see what you create.

Half term is creeping up on us so if you’re starting to think about how to keep the kids entertained this October half term, Ragtags have got two creative Halloween activities lined up with plenty of mess and imagination.

👹 Spooky Papier-Mâché Masks – Book onto this workshop

A brilliant one for children aged 6+ who love getting hands-on. They’ll create their own Halloween mask from scratch, starting with a clay former, adding papier-mâché, then decorating it with scrap and recycled materials. Masks will need to stay with us for a couple of days to dry properly before they’re ready to collect.

🧙‍♀️ Spooky Cardboard Castle - Drop-in sessions

If your kids love building, painting and creating on a big scale, bring them along to help us build one giant spooky cardboard castle. There’ll be cardboard, paint, tape, screws, towers, turrets, monsters, secret doors and plenty of room for their imaginations to run wild.

Tuesday 27th October | 10am–4pm

Friday 30th October | 10am–4pm

No booking needed for the castle, just drop in during the session times and get involved.

Throwback to this time last year when our Youth Arts Club created these incredible papier-mâché Halloween masks. Aren’t they brilliant? 🎃

If you have a young person aged 11 - 15 who loves getting creative, trying new things or would benefit from a relaxed space to meet others and build confidence, bookings are now open for our next Youth Arts Club block.

Every Wednesday from 4pm–6pm, young people can explore all sorts of creative processes, from sculpture and painting to textiles, illustration, performance and more. There’s no pressure to already be “good at art”. It’s all about experimenting, expressing yourself, learning new skills and enjoying being part of a friendly creative group.

And yes, toasties are always provided because, quite frankly, everything is better with a toastie.

Got a little one who loves to get messy, make things and get properly stuck in? We’ve got three lovely Pre-School sessions coming up at Ragtag, each designed to give young children the chance to explore, create and enjoy some hands-on fun in a relaxed environment.

A little bit of making for you, plenty of playing for them, and a lovely morning out together!

Our Makers & Munchkins workshops are all about giving mums, dads, grandparents and carers the chance to enjoy some creative time of their own, while their little ones play, explore and get involved whenever they fancy.

And this month’s workshop is a lovely one!

We’ll be getting stuck into wet felting, using colourful wool fibres, warm water and a little bit of elbow grease to make beautiful handmade purses, tablet cases or small bags. Perfect for keeping or gifting to someone special this Christmas.

Meanwhile, your munchkins can enjoy our Scribble Space and Loose Parts Play Area, with plenty of opportunities to join in with the making too.

It’s a chance to meet other parents and carers, have a good natter, enjoy a cuppa and make something lovely. No pressure, no expectations, just a relaxed morning of creativity and connection.

Messy play might look like glorious chaos… but there’s actually a LOT going on underneath all that paint, clay and squishing 🎨

From building fine motor skills and confidence to exploring colour, texture, movement and cause and effect, messy play gives little ones the freedom to learn by doing, experimenting and getting properly stuck in.

And at Ragtag, they can make all the mess they like… without you having to scrub the kitchen afterwards 😉

We’ve got two lovely Pre-School Messy Play sessions coming up :

🎨 Messy Paint
Tuesday 20th October | 10am–11am
A colourful hour of brushes, rollers, cars, mark-making and plenty of painty fun.

🤲 Messy Clay
Thursday 5th November | 10am–11am
A tactile, hands-on session where little ones can squash, squeeze, roll and explore clay through open-ended play.

Both sessions are designed to let children experiment freely, build confidence and enjoy the process without worrying about making something “perfect”.
