Today we revisited a job from before Christmas to fit the stairs carpet now that all the rest of the trades have finished. Decades in '80s Arcade' looks fantastic against the we fitted in the hall. With a cheeky little wrap over the nose on the top landing. to do things.

This job was completed a couple of weeks ago but waited for our customer to finish the painting before getting some good photos.

pearl oak in classic herringbone fashion to lounge,diner, Hall, kitchen, w/c & porch. We used a 5mm black design strip around the perimeter to create a double block border. All areas separated into their own spaces with a custom feature transition under each doorway. We chopped the blocks into smaller squares that measured 3" point to point to match the size of the parquet blocks. 😍

Then a fan border around the bottom step to compliment the first impressions on the stairs with a 🪡

The lounge was treated to a feature around the fireplace made from Stairrods UK Ltd in chrome dipped solid brass

And finally the compass cut on site installed in the porch. Again using the premier inlays to create the 'N'

Almost felt like part of the family there was so much work going on here.

As always, everything prepped with flooring grade plywood.

It's no secret I am a MASSIVE fan of dogs. And always love to get down on the floor and give them cuddles or let them have a sniff of the tools so they feel they are involved somehow. I feel its really important to make a fuss of a dog if im working in their house...it is where they live too. And I must say, all the dogs I've seen this year have taken people being in their homes completely in their stride. All been really well behaved, and a genuine pleasure to be around.

There seems to have been a bit of a secondary theme this year(aside from herringbone everything) of black, white & grey!! Monochrome flooring has been a massive part of what we have been up to, and it's plain to see why. Long may it continue!!

This year has seen many changes and challenges for us at Inspired Floors this year. Dean began his teaching career with Floorskills, young Frankie moved on to pastures new, our padawan Bill had to step up the plate. We've had backlash from covid, jobs falling through, a bout of what seemed like months of illness from this new strain of flu that's going around, the energy crisis... but we're still here. Because of you guys. Without our customers, there simply isn't any beautiful floors. So thankyou. Thankyou for being inspired.

Looking forward to seeing what '23 has in store for us all.

Last week we had the pleasure of installing fibre flooring easy clean sisal in colour to 2 flights of stairs, 2 landings and a master bedroom in a very beautiful house in .

Fitting was complimented with the use of Stairrods UK Ltd double Z bars in polished brass(hadn't been uncovered as trades still working).

As an added bonus, the customer had our specialist leading the install making sure everything was done to the highest standards.

Another course taken at London this week. Basic LVT, teaching how to template plywood, scribing techniques for pipes, doorframes and curves.
Setting out and placement of planks and tiles, laying patterns etc. We also did application of smoothing compounds and went through correct adhesive selection based on the product used, and the area its being used in.
