I’ve been in this trade a long time now, and if there’s one thing I never take lightly, it’s carbon monoxide. You can’t see it, you can’t smell it, and it doesn’t give you a second chance if something’s wrong.
If you’ve got a fire, stove, or any fuel-burning appliance in your home, you really should have a carbon monoxide alarm fitted - and just as importantly, make sure it’s working. A quick check now and then could genuinely save your life or your family’s.
I’ve seen plenty over the years where alarms weren’t fitted, had dead batteries, or were just in the wrong place. It’s not worth the risk.
I’m always happy to check your setup when I’m round sweeping your chimney - alarms, flues, the lot - just for peace of mind.
Stay safe and don’t put it off 👍
Carbon monoxide (CO) exposure can be fatal. Don't overlook your CO alarm - test it regularly and replace your alarm before its expiry date. 📅👍
