To be recognised amongst the very best in the flooring industry is something we’re incredibly proud of. Out of hundreds of entries from across the UK, making it through to the final is a huge achievement for us and a real reflection of the hard work, dedication and craftsmanship that goes into every project we complete.

Not even finished this floor yet… but made this video from our work so far and I had to share it.

We’ve sanded it back, filled it, and now it’s ready for Loba stain, EasyPrime, and x2 coats of 2K Supra.

Already picturing myself sitting in this beautiful space with a coffee, just admiring the finish when it’s complete ☕️

It’s going to completely transform this room. Stay tuned.

Most people only see the herringbone.
We see everything underneath it.

Before this J2 Flooring Naked Oak herringbone floor was fitted, the subfloor had to be right first.

✔️ DPM installed
✔️ Full prep work completed
✔️ Screeded smooth and level
✔️ Herringbone fitted with clean detail throughout

Herringbone exposes every imperfection, so the preparation has to be spot on from the start.

Simple. Clean. Timeless. 🤝

For this project, we supplied and installed the beautiful V4 Wood Flooring EC103 Canyon Oak, a floor that brings warmth character and that timeless natural look every home deserves.

We started by grinding down the existing tile floor to get a solid, clean base to work from. No shortcuts here if the prep isn’t right, nothing else matters.

Once prepped, we applied UltraFloor Prime Grit to ensure proper adhesion, followed by Multi Pro smoothing compound to create a perfectly level subfloor.

Only when that was spot on did we move onto the install…

We fitted this stunning J2 Carpenters Oak in a herringbone pattern, finished off with a custom double 3mm black inlay to really frame the design and give it that premium look.

This is the difference between just “laying a floor” and delivering a full system that’s built to last

This job came to us through a recommendation after the customer had click LVT fitted by a joiner… and unfortunately the floor failed.

The joints started breaking, the floor was bouncing
So we were called in to put it right.

We supplied and installed 9mm flooring-grade ply to stabilise and flatten the subfloor, then installed the customer’s own gluedown/ dryback LVT on top.

Not going to lie… when we first started fitting, I wasn’t 100% sold on the design.
But once it was finished? 🔥

Turns out the customer had a better eye than me 😂
The final result looked amazing, and most importantly… the customer was over the moon with it.

Moral of the story
Great floors start with proper prep, not just what you see on the surface.

A few years ago, this version of me wouldn’t have existed.
Standing on stage. Mic in hand. Speaking in front of 100+ people. Was it perfect? No But perfection was never the goal.
Pushing myself was, Showing up anyway.
Backing myself, doing the thing that scared me.

I keep reminding myself:
It’s hard… but you’ve got this.

As Mel Robbins said:
“Who I was does not dictate who I am or who I’m becoming the change came from me.”

Grateful to for the opportunity, and proud of myself for taking the step.
