Who says a bedroom makeover on a budget has to look⦠well, budget?
This loft bedroom was crying out for a bit of TLC. The young lady who lives here decided she wanted to switch from another bedroom but never got round to decorating it properly. And now sheβs a little older, she wanted something grown-up. Cosy, natural tones, nothing too girly and a bit edgy.
And honestly, I love a brief like this because itβs all about getting the balance right.
We wanted to create a space that felt warm, somewhere to chill, study and relax, all without spending a fortune.
Hereβs what we went for:
β’ State of Mind on the walls, woodwork and radiator for a deeper, cocooning feel.
β’ Industrial metallic wallpaper to add texture, contrast and a little bit of attitude.
β’ Valspar Silken Stockings on the ceiling to soften the overall look.
β’ Wooden trim instead of full wall panelling. We did consider panelling the lower half of the walls, but with a limited budget, we decided to find another way to add depth and character without the extra expense.
Painting the woodwork and radiator the same colour as the walls helps tie everything together, while the wallpaper and wooden trim give the room that extra interest.
The result is a grown-up loft bedroom that feels cosy, has personality and can evolve with her as she adds her own lighting and accessories.
No massive renovation or bedroom layout design. Because a budget bedroom makeover is about being clever with your choices, not compromising on the end result.
