That first delicious swim (in water a lot warmer than it was in April!)
Still hot in Eygalières, and set to be so for the next week at least. It is much greener than expected, after the ferocious summer heat. This part of Provence is blessed with a large canal, irrigation channels and sluice gates to the direct water as required….

Studio tidied, accounts up to date, garden chores done…the schools are already back here in Scotland, and autumn is in the air. When the Rosebay Willow-herb seed heads erupt, it is time to head to Provence for a month. A quieter, slightly cooler time of the year in France, and the perfect way to extend the summer for a little longer.

A beautiful child’s jacket from Marken (Netherlands).
Made from 2 different 18th century Indienne printed and hand painted Coromandel coast chintz fabrics. Most probably brought from India by the Dutch East India Company.
In very good condition. The lining is also an 18th century indigo checked linen - some underarm damage to the lining. Length 30cms, chest 29cms (x 2). Sleeves 23cms long.
DM me if interested. I won’t be able to ship this until after I return from France (end of September).
