Hiya! Well it's been quite a while, and although I've been doing commissions for OARC, Orkney Cloth Company, and various individuals over the last year, I've not done lessons since going on maternity leave due to lack of childcare.

I'm really pleased to announce that I'm back for the rest of the year, and can take people for lessons again! I'm available Tuesdays, weekends and some evenings.

1-to-1 lesson: £20 per hour, everything* but fabric and pattern provided (unless I already have the pattern for what you'd like to make - I do have a wide range available)

1-to-2 lesson: £30 per hour - save money and bring a pal along, I have 2 sewing machines!

Commissions are welcome and my rate is £20 per hour.

* All notions (thread, zips, elastic, buttons etc) and drinks/snacks 🧵🪡☕🍪🫖

Hiya! 🤗 My peedie wife is nearly 11 months old and I am slowly easing back into a bit of sewing work - I won't be back properly for a while as I don't have any childcare other than my husband, but I'm taking a few commissions at the mo, and I may offer weekend lessons again soon.

Recently I sewed 70 medals for the Shapinsay 10k, and I'm back hemming and labelling scarves for Orkney Cloth 🪡🧵

I am also thinking of offering bespoke jacket/cardigan/jumper embroidery as the one I did for my daughter has been so popular. Watch this space!

🐣ON MATERNITY LEAVE 1st July - spring/summer 2024🐣

Well, as of this afternoon, I am done with Peedie Sea-Pig Studio bookings until after maternity leave! I have one shift at my other job left tomorrow, and then, from 1st July 2023, I'll be off work preparing for my peedie babe to arrive 🐣

Thank you so much for all the support and bookings over the past couple of years. I began my business on 1st July 2021, so it will be exactly 2 years in business on Saturday, which is when my leave starts - very neat and tidy 😄 It's been lovely to meet so many people from all over Orkney and to make some wonderful friends too.

I'll be back some time in spring/summer 2024 - I'll post more closer to the time, so check back then 💫🪡🧵✂️✨

It was wonderful to have Lauren and Yasmin over for a joint session - Lauren made a second cushion with a lapped zip, and Yasmin made a tote bag with an appliqué initial and French seams!

This is my last week of work before maternity leave, so unfortunately I won't be taking any more bookings until next spring/summer (2024) 🐣 it has been so lovely to meet so many new students over the last few months!

A lovely Saturday teaching Isla & Catriona to make these adorable polar bear soft toys, and Amy how to make a bunny cushion cover with a pocket - perfect for storing PJs or a book for bedtime!

The girls all worked so hard to tackle some tricky sewing. I'm proud of them 🤗

There are only 2 weekends left until my maternity leave starts 🐣, so if you fancy a lesson then I only have Saturday 16th, Sunday 17th and Sunday 25th left! I also have some limited evening and weekday availability too. Message me to book 💌

My 9 year old student used the Jurassic Park fat quarter scraps leftover from his bunting to make two patchworked cushion covers. We experimented with different patchwork styles and he had plenty of opportunity to practise accurate seams. It was great to discuss ways to reduce fabric waste with him too. 🦕⭐🦖
