(So I’ve been told I don’t post enough… so here we go!)

What *another* lovely afternoon of pasty making!

I had the pleasure of joining Diane, Mark, Nic & Ian today for a proper Cornish baking session in their gorgeous and spacious Aspects Holidays property in St. Ives.

There was pastry rolling, veg chopping, plenty of crimping practice and a fair bit of laughter along the way! Everyone made traditional Cornish pasties from scratch and a batch of Cornish fairings, with some rather delicious results.

My favourite part? Seeing everyone proudly showing off their finished pasties before sitting down together to tuck in!

A huge thank you to today’s lovely group for inviting me along, getting stuck in and making the afternoon such fun. It was an absolute pleasure baking with you all; I hope your newly acquired crimping skills come in handy back home — and that your pasties bring back happy memories of Cornwall!

Oh and Diane and Mark were also sporting some rather wonderful slippers from Atlantic Shore, St. Ives, too!

Poor John. All he wanted was a pasty for his work lunch tomorrow, but apparently it needed a full photoshoot first! The joys of being married to someone who runs a Cornish baking business! At least he gets to eat the props afterwards.

And my one is the little rascal on the right only I don’t think it’ll make it to lunchtime tomorrow 🤣

A rather special family bake this weekend! 🥕🎂

My uncle turned 60, and his birthday cake request was simply “carrot cake with yummy icing” — so that’s what he got (we think!)! Happiest of birthdays Richard (I couldn’t tag him…). An enormous multi-layer carrot cake with orange cream cheese frosting, fresh orange zest and little sugar carrots. And yes, it looks homemade, because it was! 😜❤️

Very pleased with the feedback from a roomful of willing cake testers for the updated recipe 😂 but more testers are always welcome…

Well, it’s been a little quiet on here lately… but certainly not in Donna’s Cornish Kitchen!

There’s been plenty of baking going on behind the scenes, with lemon drizzle cakes, chocolate brownies and all sorts of lovely treats coming out of the oven.

The last few days have been particularly exciting, with a sudden flurry of baking experience enquiries & bookings and cake orders coming in. I’ve even got some lovely people flying halfway around the world to learn how to make a proper Cornish pasty! ✈️🥟

It’s still early days for my little business, but I’m absolutely loving sharing a bit of Cornwall through its food.

Whether it’s learning to crimp a pasty, baking a proper Cornish cream tea or simply enjoying a slice of homemade cake, it’s all about good food and happy memories.

Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting Donna’s Cornish Kitchen. It really does mean a lot! ❤️
