🌿 KOKEDAMA QUESTION OF THE DAY 🌿

A lovely customer at today’s market asked me…

“I left my kokedama sitting in a little water while I was away, and when I came home it had roots growing out of the bottom! 😳 What do I do?”

Well… funnily enough, exactly the same thing happened to a couple of mine while we were away! 😂🌱

Firstly, don’t panic! Your kokedama hasn’t gone rogue 😂 Those little roots are simply the plant doing what plants do and searching out the water it’s been sitting in.

I just took a pair of clean, sharp scissors and snipped the escaping roots off, and they’re absolutely fine. ✂️🌿

🍂 And just like that… I’m back! 🌿

After the loveliest summer break and our campervan adventures around Europe, I’ve had a really nice little switch-off from all things kokedama… but now the first signs of autumn are creeping in and I’m definitely ready to get back to the moss! 💚

September is kicking off with two lovely markets for The Kokedama Llama:

🌿 Saturday 5th September – Rode Hall Farmers Market
9am–1.30pm
One of my regular favourites and I’ll be back with a fresh collection of handmade kokedamas.

🍂 Saturday 19th September – Mabon Market at The Wizard Tearoom, Nether Alderley
10am–4pm
A gorgeous autumn equinox market with local makers, seasonal produce and lots of lovely autumnal things🌙🌿

I’ll be spending the next few days getting my hands mossy again and making lots of new kokedamas ready for September. I’ve missed it and I’m actually really excited to get going again!

I’m popping up at Tatton Perk in Chelford TODAY from 10am–2pm with a gorgeous little jungle of handmade kokedamas! 🪴💚

I’ll be bringing along a lovely selection of plants from little minis to bigger statement kokedamas, hanging beauties and plenty of gorgeous greenery to choose from. 🌱

This Saturday I’ll be taking over Tatton Perk, Chelford with a beautiful collection of handmade kokedamas, lush houseplants, hanging plants and unique botanical gifts.

Thank you to everyone who came to see me at Rode Hall today. 💚

It was such a lovely morning with lots of familiar faces returning, plenty of new plant lovers stopping by and lots of chats about all things plants.

The traditional moss-wrapped kokedamas were definitely the favourites today! It was so nice to see so many people choosing the original Japanese style 🪴

A big thank you to Ivy Cole Jewellery who bought a couple of kokedamas as end-of-term teacher gifts, which was such a lovely compliment. 💚

I also had lots of conversations about my workshops, so if you’ve been thinking about coming along to one, keep an eye on my page as there’ll be more to come.

I also collected Maude a Monstera kokedama bought by Mrs.M just over a year ago. It’s grown so much that it’s ready for a fresh moss re-wrap! I can’t wait to show you the transformation, keep watching 👀

🌿 See you at Rode Hall Farmers Market tomorrow! 🌿

I’ll be bringing something a little different this time… a collection of traditional Japanese-style kokedamas, wrapped in beautiful natural moss just as they were originally created.

Choose from:

🌱 Asparagus Ferns
🌱 Curly Spider Plants

They can be displayed hanging or sitting, making them perfect for patios, balconies, garden rooms or bright spots indoors. And now that our night-time temperatures are staying warm, they’re also happy to enjoy the summer outside. ☀️

Each one is handmade by me and completely unique, ready to find its new home.
