🏡 120 YEARS OF HISTORY… AND A FLOOR THAT NEEDED A LITTLE TLC! 🔨

Here’s a recent one we’ve been working on for a customer in a beautiful 120-year-old house.

Over the years, the existing floor joists had gradually started to sag, leaving some pretty substantial dips in both the kitchen and dining room. So before we could even think about laying a new floor, we had a bit of groundwork to get stuck into!

First things first, we ripped up all the existing floorboards to see exactly what was going on underneath. Once we’d exposed everything, we teamed up with our good friends over at MRC Construction, who helped us put together some timber support frames to give that subfloor the strength and support it needs for many more years to come. 💪

With everything properly supported, we then went over the top with 22mm tongue and groove chipboard, fully screwed and glued to create a beautifully solid, level foundation.

And finally, the finishing touch… a lovely 12mm, 24-hour water-resistant laminate, supplied and fitted by ourselves here at Reign Flooring & Design. 👌

This one was a proper transformation, and a great example of why preparation is just as important as the finished floor!

We don’t believe in simply covering up problems and hoping for the best. If something needs sorting underneath, we’d much rather get it right from the start.

🔥 WE’VE BEEN AT IT AGAIN… AND THIS FLOOR IS WEAVING ITS WAY INTO OUR FAVOURITES! 😂👌

Just look at this basket weave LVT we’ve recently completed for our customer! 😍

A little bit different from your usual herringbone, but blimey, doesn’t it look the business?! 🔥 That pattern really does give the room something special.

Of course, before anyone thinks we just rocked up, slapped a few bits down and called it a day… 🤣 We carried out the full prep with 6mm flooring-grade ply and carefully feathered joints, getting everything nice and smooth for that seamless finish.

Because as we all know, a lovely-looking floor is one thing, but getting the groundwork right is what separates a proper job from a bodge! 💪😂

We’re absolutely chuffed with how this one’s turned out. The only problem now is we’re running out of excuses not to do every pattern under the sun! 🤣

😍 Another herringbone job, and this one was for a returning customer!

We’ve been back to this downstairs flat for a customer we’ve done quite a bit of work for over the years.

They’d originally had a straight-lay laminate fitted, but after seeing some of the herringbone flooring we’ve been putting down, they absolutely fell in love with the look.

So when it came time for a change, there was only ever going to be one choice… herringbone! 😂

This lovely mahogany-style colour really suits the room, and the herringbone pattern completely changes the look of the space.

It’s always great when customers come back to us, but even better when they’ve seen our work elsewhere and decide they want the same in their own home. 👍

Another one finished and another happy customer. 🏡

🚨 Short notice? We’ve got you covered! 🚨

Sometimes you don’t have weeks to plan a new floor — sometimes you’re moving in Monday afternoon and need the flooring sorted before then! 😂

This customer contacted Reign Flooring & Design on Friday, needing a new floor at short notice. We managed to source, supply and fit this lovely grey laminate, and by Monday dinner time, the job was complete and ready for them to move in! 🙌

We know that sometimes life throws a spanner in the works and you need a fast, reliable service. Here at Reign, we’ll always do our best to accommodate where we can — even when the timescale is tighter than we’d normally like! 😅

🏡 120 YEARS OF CHARACTER… WITH A FLOORING TRANSFORMATION TO MATCH! 🪵✨

Some houses deserve more than just a new floor… they deserve a flooring choice that respects their history.

This stunning project was all about bringing modern craftsmanship into a beautiful 120-year-old home, while keeping those original character and traditional aesthetics alive.

We started with extensive subfloor preparation, installing plywood throughout the hallway, flowing seamlessly into the double lounge and even continuing up onto the top landing. All to create the perfect foundation for what came next.

Then came the main event… 👀

A beautiful glue-down engineered wood herringbone, carefully laid to create that timeless, natural finish that complements the age and character of the property perfectly.

But we didn’t stop downstairs!

To tie everything together, we also supplied and fitted a bespoke stair runner, custom-made for this unique home using a hard-wearing patterned Axminster carpet. A design you simply don’t see every day, and one that feels right at home in a property full of history.

From the intricate herringbone detail to the traditional staircase, every element was chosen to enhance rather than hide what makes this house special.

We had the pleasure of bringing a vision to life for our friends over at J Burroughs plumbing — transforming their staircase with beautifully crafted picture rail panelling and a dado rail, all meticulously measured, cut and mitred to perfection. 👌

Every angle, every joint and every detail carefully considered to create a finish that looks right at home in this stunning hallway.

What started as a ChatGPT-inspired design has now become a real-life feature, and we couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out!

🖤 Another little job where the finishing touches matter…

This customer was after something a little different for the kitchen, so we got this stunning patterned vinyl fitted. 😍

The design really finishes the room off and gives it that classic, clean look without being too much. 🔥

But while we were fitting it, we noticed something else…

💧 The washing machine inlet hose was leaking.

Sometimes these hoses have simply been fitted for the last time — a little movement, a bit of age and suddenly you’ve got water where you definitely don’t want it! 😂

We could have just pointed it out and said “you’ll need to get that sorted”…

But that’s not really how we work.

So rather than leave the customer with a potential leak, we nipped out, grabbed a replacement hose and fitted it there and then. ✅

Flooring fitted. Problem spotted. Problem solved. No fuss.

WHEN YOU’RE LET DOWN… REIGN STEPS UP 👑

We got a call from a customer late on Friday night after she’d been completely let down by another fitter. She was left without a carpet for her bedroom and, understandably, was pretty stressed.

We couldn’t just leave her in that position… so first thing Saturday morning, before heading off for a family day out at the Pleasure Beach 🎢, we got ourselves over there and got her bedroom carpeted. 🏠🧡

No drama. No excuses. Just a job that needed doing. 💪

It’s not always about the biggest job or the biggest payday — sometimes it’s simply about helping someone out when they’ve been let down.

Another happy customer, another job done, and we still made it to the Pleasure Beach! 😂🎢
