Hardly finished this one before he flew the nest. He ran off with a beautiful lady in her converted ambulance and will no doubt continue to comfortably explore the Dorset coast. Safe travels Gulliver!

These lovely ladies gathered in my studio at the weekend to make Highland Cow Heads. They fearlessly wrangled wire and wool to create - even though most of them were complete beginners to needlefelt and the art of wool sculpture. Two days of fun and laughter, plenty of tea and delicious lunches from The Stableyard Restaurant, Broadwindsor. Aren't they fantastic?!

A sixty-minute needlefelt workshop making a Fox with Michelle Hickman. You will be given a kit with all materials for two foxes - one to be made on the day and one to make at home. Your kit includes a felting pad, two needles, wires, wool, and instructions. The fox will be 12cm in height.

Michelle is an excellent and fun tutor of needle-felting, is a published author and her sculptures have sold all over the world. She has her own craft workshop on the Dorset/Somerset borders and teaches there and at venues across the country. This will be her tenth year at Craft4Crafters.

Furzie creates wool sculptures using just wool and a wire armature, her pieces exude character and humour. Come and see a display of her work and learn more about needlefelting. Kits and copies of her book will be on sale.

Come to the fair! Buckham Fair in Dorset - just a four-mile gallop from the Furzie Studio .

As well as a display of Furzie wool sculptures … you can expect a fun-filled day of dog shows, local trade stalls, delicious food stands, the famous B**r Tent, action-packed displays in the main ring, fun fair, Heavy Horse displays, Heavy Horse village, plus much more.

Buckham Fair is fundraising for Dorset County Hospital, Emergency and Critical Care Appeal.

It's PUFFIN hot out there! So come inside and see us in St Peter's Church Eype, near Bridport. 17-19 July, 10-5 Friday and Saturday, 10-4 Sunday.

Art@Eype Cafe serving light refreshments (and CAKE) in aid of the local Forget Me Not Singers Community Choir from Bridport, supporting those with dementia and their carers.

Nine exhibiting artists to talk to including: Neil Barnes, David Brooke, Sally Davies, David Emery, Michelle Hickman, Julie Oldfield, Ben Russell, Elizabeth Sporne and Caroline Tucker.

ArtatEype - popular, free-to-enter, three-day-long annual summer exhibition, open from 10am daily – closes 5pm Friday & Saturday but 4pm on Sunday.

The 2026 show features: painters David Brooke, Elizabeth Sporne and Caroline Tucker, copper painter Julie Oldfield, multimedia artist Sally Davies, potter David Emery, stone sculptor Ben Russell, wool sculptor/needlefelter Michelle Hickman, and photographer Neil Barnes. The artists, all based in Dorset, will be on hand to discuss their work.

Free entry and parking. Dogs welcome. Proceeds from light refreshments will go towards funding the Bridport Forget Me Not Singers, a local group for people living with dementia and their caregivers.

NB: while the postcode for the church is DT6 6AR, the postcode for satnav should be DT6 6AP – this will take you towards Eype and where the road splits take the right-hand fork, the church is soon on the left.
