Becky Mackeonis and I are running a workshop on Sunday 8th December. When we observe the devastation caused through war, one can often feel helpless. A simple donation can really help and these words.....
"When you donate, you're not just giving money—you’re giving hope".
Our workshop offers a sacred space in which we will work with the embroidered cloths that have been hand stitched by the women in the Balata Refugee Camp and incorporate them into a spirit doll. The doll will act as a focus for you to continue to raise the vibration from hatred and war into love and unity. Half the tickets have now sold so if this is calling to you, please don't hesitate to book your place. Link to the workshop is in the comments...
I asked Hannah (my contact for getting the embroidered fabrics) if she could ask her friends from the Balata Refugee Camp to share some words on how the monies raised from this workshop would help the people of Palestine... I am in awe of these women... to find a way forward to help support themselves by sharing some of their craft shows to me great strength and resilience...
These words are from Maryham and her husband Ossama....
"Life in a refugee camp is tough. It's tough for everyone, but for women, it can be especially challenging. With limited access to healthcare, safety, and basic resources, women often find themselves facing unimaginable difficulties. But there's good news: you can make a difference. And it doesn't take much to help change a life.
When you donate, you're not just giving money—you’re giving hope. Your contribution can provide basic necessities like food, clean water, and medical care. It can offer women and girls access to hygiene kits, education, and vocational training that empower them to rebuild their lives.
In fact, with as little as $20, you could provide a month’s worth of sanitary products for a woman who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them. Just $50 could help fund education programs that give young girls in refugee camps the chance to learn and grow, even in the most difficult circumstances. And $100 might help cover medical care for women who have been traumatized or need emergency services.
Together, We Can Change Lives.
No one should have to face hardship alone. Especially not women who are already living through so much. Your generosity can help these women find hope in the midst of hardship and rebuild their lives with dignity.
If you believe in a world where everyone, no matter where they come from, deserves safety and opportunity, then please consider donating today. Together, we can help these women find strength, courage, and a brighter future.
Finally, we are stronger and can face challenges through your support in all means
And this finally is a message from Maryham (Ossama if her husband and a dear friend of mine)
Ossama helped me to write this for u and let others read it 🙏, Im sure that if they read it can feel of our sufferings and know more about our difficult days,"
I kept that last little part of the message in as it also shows how the men and women are working together
