Claude Dozorme master cutler is a workshop based in Thiers, France, renowned for crafting exceptional cutlery since 1902. There's often confusion about Laguiole, which refers to the shape of this stunning knife, not a brand as many believe. This iconic design originated from Jean-Pierre Calmels, a blacksmith who merged the knife-making traditions of Aubrac peasants and Spanish Navaja. Today, the Laguiole shape, characterized by its curved handle and Napoleon's bee symbol, is one of the most prestigious in French cutlery, with 80% of its production handcrafted in Thiers. Our top choice is the Ivoirne, available in various materials including Horn, ebony, rosewood, exotic wood, aluminium, and stainless Steel.
