Leaks don’t just damage floors — they reveal what’s been hiding for years. Here’s how we fixed it properly.

Two weeks ago we were called out to investigate an ongoing kitchen leak.

On inspection, we found the cause: a failed pipe seal hidden beneath the old flooring. This had been leaking for quite some time, leading to damage in both the subfloor and laminate.

Once the leak was repaired, we began uplifting the floor to see what was underneath. We uncovered multiple layers of screed, sand and cement, and concrete—around 2–3 inches thick—laid directly onto Yorkshire stone flags.

After allowing the flags to breathe and release the trapped moisture, we used a damp-proof repair mortar to restore them. This prepared the surface for the first coat of smoothing compound.

Next, after a thorough sweep, we applied two coats of primer followed by the first layer of moisture-tolerant screed. Once dry, we sealed the floor with an epoxy damp-proof membrane. When cured, we applied a second coat of moisture-tolerant screed to create a smooth, stable subfloor—ready for the installation of luxury vinyl tiles.

Getting creative in Chapel Allerton with this Small Parquet LVT Camaro incorporating a 2 plank border with feature stripping to really boast the intricate design throughout the house.

To take this flooring to the next level we had to use 12mm moisture tolerant
plywood to raise the floor height in the hall way which then allowed up to pump screed into the kitchen area giving us a level and smooth subfloor running throughout the ground floor.

In December last year we was asked to perform a Christmas miracle for the hiltonmalta and as always we delivered 🎁

Over 10 days we worked tirelessly through the hot weather and long hours to revitalise the top floor using heavy contract woven backed patterned carpet exclusively for Hilton Hotels.

It was a pleasure to work for such a beautiful hotel with amazing staff. We look forward to next time!

CONCEPT TO CREATION 👌🏼

We really did nail this one (and glue)😅

Our customer searched far and wide for this but had no luck to somebody to up the task. We went through many options and managed to put this together using engineered wood and hand made solid wood nosings to match and finish off the bullnose in style.

What an amazing finish we had on this one! It’s fair to say we was as happy as the customers with this finish 🤩
