A LITTLE CHANGE OF PLAN… BUT SOME VERY EXCITING NEWS!

Well… sometimes things don’t quite go to plan! 😅

Sadly, the studio I had planned to open isn’t going ahead, which has been a bit of a curveball after all the planning, dreaming and preparation that has gone into it.

BUT — if there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s pivoting! 😂

And actually, this has opened the door to something I’ve been chatting about with Paulo at Transcend Studios for agessssss… so I’m really excited to finally say that Paintings by Nel will be delivering some gorgeous new sessions at Transcend Studios!

I’ll now be bringing some of my regular classes, workshops and creative events to Transcend Studios, and I honestly think this is going to be such an exciting new chapter.

So here is the new September timetable:

A massive thank you to everyone who has supported me while I’ve been working towards opening my own space. It hasn’t quite worked out the way I imagined, but I genuinely believe this new partnership could be something really special.

Here’s to embracing the plot twists, having a little pivot and getting back to what I love most — making, creating and bringing people together through art.

A canvas painting evening where you can paint whatever you want!

I always go into a painting session with an idea in mind, but sometimes you just have to let go, go with the flow and see where it takes you.

There were SO many amazing ideas and beautiful paintings created at this workshop with Kiin - Community Nurturing Programmes Mercer West Madison East

One person even asked if I could draw something for her to paint… and I almost did! 😂 But then I reminded myself — it’s not about creating something that looks “perfect”. It’s about challenging yourself, enjoying the process and seeing what happens when you simply give it a go.

And let’s just say… she was SO happy with her painting! 🥹

Sometimes the best paintings are the ones you never planned.

Another brilliant holiday Art Club session! 🎨✨

Our Tote Bags & Pencil Cases workshop was such a wonderful session — so much creativity, colour and personality! 👜🎨

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces, as well as lots of new ones joining us for the first time. 🥰

And there are lots more gorgeous workshops coming soon at the new studio, opening in early September! ✨

Which makes me wonder… should we have a launch party?! 🤔🎉

Capybaras & Bracelets at Wonder & Wild 🦫🎨

What a wonderful workshop painting capybaras! Every single one was unique and beautiful in its own way, and it was so lovely seeing everyone’s creativity shine.

Everyone also got to take home a mini capybara magnet painting kit to keep the creativity going at home!

Our next workshop at Wonder & Wild is Wednesday 12th at 10am! 🤩

We’ll be personalising our own tote bags with our names before painting and decorating them to create something completely unique to take home.

You don’t need fancy equipment to create amazing art… just a little imagination!

Today’s Print Making Workshop at Bents was full of fun, messy creativity, experimentation and lots of smiles! 🎨

We explored different printmaking techniques, including mono printing and creating our own block prints using Styrofoam and cardboard. It’s such a simple process but the possibilities are endless!

One of my favourite creations has to be the incredible tiger my daughter, Fern, made. 🐯 It just shows how unique every single print can be.

This is one of those activities that’s perfect for children and adults alike, and it’s so easy to recreate at home.

Something new is coming……..

For the last few years, I’ve been bringing creativity to cafés, community spaces, schools, workplaces and events across the North West. Every workshop has reminded me of one simple thing: we all need more time to slow down, make something with our hands and reconnect with ourselves and with each other.

So, from 1st September, a new chapter begins.

Welcome to The Studio by Paintings by Nel.

More than just an art studio, it’s a creative home where every age is welcome. A place where babies can create their very first keepsakes, children can let their imaginations run wild, adults can rediscover the joy of making, and families can spend meaningful time together.

Whether you’re joining a workshop, celebrating a special occasion, popping in for a creative afternoon or making memories you’ll treasure forever, I want you to feel inspired the moment you walk through the door.

I’ve dreamt of creating a space like this for a long time, a place built on creativity, connection and community. Somewhere that feels calm, welcoming and full of possibility.

I can’t wait to open the doors, meet you all and watch this space come to life with paint covered hands, laughter, conversation and thousands of beautiful creations.
