Yorkshire has lost one of its greatest creative voices.

David Hockney found beauty where others saw the everyday, from Bradford to Los Angeles and back to the Yorkshire landscape he loved, his work was defined by colour, curiosity and an unwavering optimism.

More than the pools, portraits and landscapes that secured his place in art history, Hockney leaves behind a creative legacy built on observation, curiosity and the belief that the familiar still has the power to surprise.

Despite becoming one of Britain’s most celebrated artists, he never lost his Yorkshire grounding. When mocked for his accent, his response was pure Hockney…

A lovely moment from Milan…

Seeing our ‘No Place Like Home’ project featured in the latest SieMatic Worldwide Lookbook was a real highlight of the trip.

Designed for a busy houseful, with different activities unfolding throughout the day, this kitchen was created to be both hardworking and welcoming - a space that brings the family together while supporting the realities of everyday life.

Every detail was carefully crafted to balance beauty, function and longevity, to see our Yorkshire project included alongside inspiring work from around the world is a proud moment for our team, and a reflection of the care, creativity and dedication that went into bringing it to life.

And making a special appearance in the Lookbook is our very own resident model, Ava🤍

What a way to start the week!

We’re delighted that our Architecture of Luxury project in North Leeds has been shortlisted for the Designerati North Design Awards, to be recognised among so many industry greats and accomplished practices whose work we admire is a real privilege and something we really are proud of as a team.

An incredible project to be involved with from start to finish, made possible by fantastic clients who trusted us with their vision, alongside a trusted network of trade partners whose expertise, collaboration and commitment helped bring it to life, a successful project which was the result of many talented people working together towards a shared goal.

Most importantly, this recognition reflects the hard work, skill and dedication of our team. Their passion, creativity and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued commitment.

We’re looking forward to joining industry friends old and new next month at the event to celebrate the very best of Northern design 🤍

A new display is taking shape at the studio.

This latest bar design explores the design principles behind our ‘blended’ concept - bringing together the architectural precision of the SieMatic SLX display cabinets with the endearing character of our handcrafted ‘Darling Maeve’ furniture.

The combination of German precision engineering and Yorkshire artisan craftsmanship creates a space where each element works in harmony, balancing clean architectural lines with warmth, texture and individuality. The linear elegance and technical detailing of SLX sits effortlessly alongside the handcrafted character of the ‘Darling Maeve’ range, resulting in something contemporary yet enduring, refined yet inviting.

Now the final question on materials remains.

Do we go with Irish Green marble with its verdant tones and subtle luminosity, or Harmony Grey marble with its elemental warmth, geological beauty and understated restraint?
