Well, hello if you’re new here! 👋🏼
I’m not quite sure how we’ve managed six renovations and an accidental self-build in eight years, but here we are! 😂
The funny thing is, I still get ridiculously excited about transforming a house: imagining what it could become, choosing all the little details and then watching it slowly come together. I absolutely love it.
Of course, not everything goes to plan (believe me, I have stories!), and there’s always something that needs finishing.
So that’s what you’ll find here. A bit of renovating, lots of interiors and styling, the things I’ve learnt along the way and little snippets of everyday life.
And hopefully a few laughs, because it’s only a house at the end of the day - although my husband might disagree when I announce my next idea!🙈

One little change, a much better fit🤎
I loved how our home office was coming together, but the old office chair just wasn’t doing it for me!
I wanted something practical that didn’t look quite so… office-y ☺️
This beautiful Audrey chair in Ivory from has the warmth, curves and lovely detailing I was looking for. And I think it looks right at home. Now, whether it makes me any more productive is another matter😂

A little autumn, a lot of cosy 🍂
Sometimes it only takes a few little changes to make home feel different.
A few seasonal touches, some natural textures and suddenly the kitchen feels a little warmer.
I’m not one for decorating every corner for autumn, but I do love bringing a little of the season indoors. Especially when it’s this simple! 🤎

Apparently there’s a German word for me at 7pm on a weekday ☺️
A Stubenhocker is someone who would rather stay in than go out. I do still go out, but after the year I’ve had, I’m craving quiet evenings at home more and more. Coat off, pyjamas on, something hot to drink, and that’s the whole plan.

The real reasons why I repainted the porch 👇
The starting point was the low quality of paint the contractor used, it marked within weeks. To be entirely honest, I also knew I was going to do something a bit bolder in here, I just needed more time to decide. This is the spot where we lean against the walls to take our shoes off, so it was never going to cope. I wanted something wipeable that could take daily life, even though I now try very hard not to touch them🤎
I chose Graham & Brown Resistance Ultra Durable Matt Emulsion in Toasted Teacake. It has a very slight sheen and it wipes clean, but the thing I love most is how the colour changes. On a sunny day it’s a warm, golden peach, and when the sun comes through the skylight the walls glow. On a grey rainy day at 11am it turns a soft dusty pink, almost a muted coral, and still feels warm. I didn’t expect it to be two colours in one, and I like that.
I stopped the colour at the arch, where the tiles end and the wooden floor begins, so there’s a clear line between the porch and the hallway.
Last slide is an AI idea for the corner, a rich brown velvet stool. I can’t decide if I love it. Would you keep it, or what would you put there? Somewhere to sit, a place for keys, something else? I’ll go through the colours I almost chose in a reel soon.

Our home office 👩🏻‍💻Still not finished, but you’ve waited long enough 🤍 I’ll tell you what I love about it (and what I found challenging ) in the next one.
What do you think to the lighting pendant I chose? Hubby hasn’t seen it yet, do you think he’ll like it??
