At Bertie and Ted we hope to take the difficulty out of setting up a play tray but to keep the opportunities open for endless fun.

I have planned these boxes with an ikea trofast tray in mind however your roasting tin will work just as well if that's all you have!

Just pour the of bags of rice or sand into the tray then add the scoops, spoons or tweezers to build on those fine motor skills and then add the pasta and toys to create stories and build new worlds.

When finished, just remove any rice or sand that has got wet and, pack it all away in the resealable bags ready for another day!

Time to introduce myself.. I'm Emily, I'm a mother to 2 boys, Bertie and Ted who are 7 and 4! I have started this venture to be able to spend more time with my (not so little) babies. They test drive every box and help me decide what needs to go in each one.

I am a qualified nursery practitioner with over 15 years experience and a degree in early childhood studies. I understand how important play is for young children's development but also how difficult it can be to know where to start when it comes to tray based fun.

We create activities for children with everything you need in one box. You just need a tray to pop it all in!
Each box contains a messy taste safe base (rice or sand), toys and tools all to encourage communication and fine motor skills.
