We created a bespoke porcelain light featured on Guy Martins new programme on Channel 4.

We created this bespoke light for Alan and Annne James who painstakingly converted into a Passivhaus and created a church conversion of exception standards.

I designed a few initial concepts for the main space, and they finally settling on this design. Featuring 11 large porcelain cylinders suspended over various lengths from a bespoke black rectangular ceiling rose designed to fit discretely over the wooden beam above.

I thought the porcelain cylinders were symbolic of the type of pillar candles that would have been used in the church back in its hey day.

I’m really proud of this work, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see something that we made on the TV!

There was also a feature in Grand Designs magazine and another TV feature on Discovery called Derelict Rescue.

As a maker I absolutely love seeing the work I make in our little workshop in Staffordshire in the beautiful homes they eventually adorn.

Quite often we receive online orders for our lighting and never actually end up seeing the homes they end up in, so it’s always a pleasure to receive images like these!

Taking a look back at this fantastic project we have the pleasure of being involved in.
We were commissioned to create a cluster light of 18 Porcelain pendants suspended over a 6.5m cascade down the middle of this staircase. We also made another cluster of 5 pendants to match. Credit to .kings_construction for the great workmanship and providing the images.
