A little while ago I had the absolute privilege of being asked to provide funeral flowers for a much loved grandma and a bit of a local legend here in Glenfield.
She was the head of their family and they wanted the best send off for her and every detail was thought about.
I liaised with a relative, we had a consultation to discuss what they wanted, we talked about the lovely lady and how vibrant she was. The night before I went and dressed the wicker casket.
I feel that I can offer way more than picking from a brochure at a funeral directors. I can incorporate foliage or flowers from their own garden, objects from their favourite hobbies, favourite flowers/colours etc.
I also offer a service of collecting the main tribute after the funeral and deconstructing the arrangement and using the flowers for small arrangements to give away at the wake.
So many more possibilities when you can actually speak to the florist who will be making this special tribute for a loved one.
