One last wrestle with an icon.

Part III turned out to have a few final plot twists.. an original bottom lining too fragile to reattach, wadding that needed anchoring after the panel replacements, a couple of stubborn stains, and twelve buttons determined to test both my strength and vocabulary.

I salvaged the original zip, remade the entire bottom lining and secured everything inside before attempting the physical task of getting the restored cover back into position.

Perfectly timed reinforcements arrived from Rug Doctor, who kindly gifted me a generous selection of cleaning products.

I chose the Heavy Stain Pre-Treatment and Oxy Power Fabric Cleaner to tackle the remaining marks before giving the cover its final extraction clean. Thank you for helping me bring this restoration over the finish line.

Once the buttons were back in, I carefully
colour-matched the embroidery thread and
hand-stitched over the repaired areas to give them one final layer of strength and protection.

The intention was never to make this Togo look new, or to erase the life already written into it.

Cleaned. Rebuilt. Repaired. Still unmistakably itself, and ready to be sunk into all over again.

Restoring a Ligne Roset Togo - Part II 🛋️

After the first deep clean, it was finally time to tackle the damage.

Some of the existing hand repairs were far too good to lose, while other areas needed to be stripped right back and completely repanelled. Using the same fabrics we chose for the first Togo, I’ve started piecing everything back together panel by panel, keeping the character of the original while introducing something new.

There’s always a slightly terrifying moment when you make that first cut into a piece like this, particularly when it’s a Togo!

Next up: sewing every last panel back into place, a final deep clean with , and finally seeing the whole vision come together.

Part 1 of restoring a Ligne Roset Togo 🛋️

About a year ago, I restored the first Togo from this matching set for my friend Harvey

Now it’s finally time to bring the second one back to life.

Like the first, this sofa had been badly damaged by its previous owner’s dogs. Harvey’s girlfriend had already hand sewn some repairs, and they were so well done that we decided to keep a couple of them as part of the sofa’s story.

Unfortunately, the corners had taken the worst of the damage and needed replacing completely.

Before any repairs could begin, it was time for a deep clean, removing the cover and seeing what was hiding inside… including an unexpected dog toy 🦴

Part 2 is where the real transformation begins.

I honestly thought this would be one of my easiest upholstery projects…

Turns out, it was one of the most challenging.

With a bold checked fabric, every side has to be perfectly aligned.

I finished it, it wasn’t right! So I stripped it back and started again.

Sometimes the simplest-looking pieces demand the most patience.

It’s not always about getting it right the first time. It’s about making it right.

The finished coffee table will be revealed once the wooden top has been fitted.

One of my favourite curtain projects.

These two pairs of bespoke lined curtains were handmade by me using a beautiful printed fabric from Ada & Ina linen fabrics. The subtle abstract pattern adds just enough detail, while the soft neutral tones work beautifully with the room.

I love creating window treatments that stand the test of time and still look right as a home evolves.

These curtains were created for a customer who found me online and supplied photographs and measurements of her bay window.

From there, everything was made to order in my Leicester workroom before being sent to its new home.

Bespoke doesn’t have to mean local.
