Outside of Mission Magpie I work as a full time artist and many of you have probably seen me working on something quite unusual over this last month! It was an honour to be asked to create two planets, Jupiter and Uranus along with school children from Wolfdale and Eyres Monsell, to be part of the National Space Centre’s Planet Parade that launched yesterday throughout the city.
Uranus is situated at Phoenix Cinema and Jupiter is of course at our beloved Haymarket.

On International Women’s Day I give thanks to the many amazing women I meet through Mission Magpie. When I listen to people’s life stories it reminds me that every one of us are remarkable in our own way.
We endure. We overcome. We create.

The women I meet may have no idea the impact they have on this particular woman but it is immense.

Thank you for just being you. ❤️

It is quite obvious how rubbish I am at keeping up with social media.. the main reason for this is that I am constantly working and trying to keep up with opening the shop, the making, the sorting, the organising etc and it genuinely slips my mind!
I really want to rectify this and so I am going to try making my approach slightly more personal- if you have been in the shop then you probably already know me and we’re all friends right? We’re all fellow magpies..
I had a lovely day yesterday chatting to so many of our wonderful visitors and then took a moment to read the comments book. Almost all of every day is taken up with Mission Magpie but it is my passion project. My heart belongs to it and to all of you. You keep me going and give me purpose. Thank you with all my heart ❤️
