I’m exhibiting at Rayleigh Windmill this September!

Come and see my work and have a chat with me about printmaking (on the days I’m there!). You can, and should, also explore this beautiful local landmark, with its wonderfully friendly & knowledgeable volunteers and all their museum exhibits.

Entry is FREE (suggested donation £2 per person).

Rayleigh Windmill September dates:
Sun 6th
Sat 12th (I won’t be there, but you can still see my work)
Sun 13th (same as Sat 12th)
Weds 16th
Sat 19th
Sun 20th
Weds 23rd
Sat 26th
Sun 27th

Opening times:
Sat & Sun, 1-4pm
Weds, 10am-1pm

Parking is also free on Sundays and free after 1pm which is even more of an incentive to pop down. Hope to see you there!

Looking for something to do now the kids are back at school? Or maybe, now the intense summer heat is over, you're ready to venture out? Then why not come along to my taster workshop?

I'll have all the tools, the templates, the stamp pads and the cups of teas (or coffee, if you prefer) for you to have an enjoyable morning experimenting with linocut, making as many unique & colourful prints as you can to take home.

Absolute beginners are very welcome! No art experience needed at all.

This post is in celebration of teaching a whole-day workshop at Firstsite all about embracing mistakes in linocut. It was a fab day full of experimental printmaking and I'm so thankful for the wonderful people who came along and threw themselves into the process. 💚

I've made many mistakes. This probably isn't even a tenth of the mistakes I've made! But I now tell myself that the biggest mistake I can ever make is letting that stumble be the end of my creative process instead of understanding it as a step along the way.

So here's to making more mistakes!

And have you ever changed your art or your process based on a mistake? Because I know I have.

This session is an introduction to the art of linocut printmaking. In this relaxing workshop, you'll learn how to transfer your designs onto a lino block, carve your block safely, and ink and print your design. You'll go home with multiple copies of your artworks to keep, treasure or gift. Suitable for complete beginners.

✵ CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP DAY IS HERE! ✵
Nicola Upton and I are very excited to announce our Christmas creative workshop day!

This time we’re heading to a new venue in a new location - The Fold, Billericay Billericay Arts Association

There are two workshops on the same day: Mrs Mosaic, aka Nicola, will be running the morning mosaic star session and I’ll be taking over for an afternoon of making linocut Christmas cards! Refreshments and festive treats all included!

✵ Morning: Make a Mosaic Star, 10.30 - 12.30
Create a stunning mosaic star decoration suitable for indoor and outdoor use (once grouted).

✵ Afternoon: Linocut Christmas Cards, 1.30 - 3.30
Design, carve and print your own set of handmade Christmas cards.

Where? The Fold, Laindon Rd, Billericay
When? Sunday 8th November 
(Times for each workshop listed above)

You can book either workshop individually so no pressure to commit to an entire day, although if you fancy making a whole festive day of it, you won't be disappointed!

Honoured and excited to visit the Ironbridge Printmaking competition exhibition at Ironbridge Fine Arts to see my print 'Memories of Hadleigh Castle'. Extra special because I brought my family all the way from Essex to experience it with me.

The exhibition is a real celebration of everything I love about printmaking! I came away feeling immensely inspired by the techniques and talent on display. Congratulations to everyone who was selected. And thank you to everyone involved in organising, judging & putting on the exhibition - it's glorious! 💚

The exhibition is on till the end of September so there's still time to visit!

Now I offer these linocut workshops for adults:
Tasters
Beginner workshops
Intermediate workshops
& private & group events

You can book via my website which is where you can also find more info on dates, times, prices and locations.

Most of my upcoming linocut workshops are at The Village Hub, Chalkwell, a gorgeously relaxing space that so many of my recent workshop attendees have been loving!

Come alone or bring a friend for a few mindful hours of creativity, making your own art completely by hand. All welcome.
