✨ “I know I want to change it… I just don’t know what to do with it.” ✨

This is something I hear all the time.

My client knew the old curtains weren’t working for her anymore, but she wasn’t sure what should replace them. Should she have new curtains? A blind? Shutters? Leave it as it is?

That’s exactly where a Soft Furnishings Consultation can help.

During our consultation, I looked at:
✔ The size and proportions of the window
✔ The position of the window within the room
✔ Privacy requirements
✔ How much natural light needed to be controlled
✔ Most importantly, how she wanted the room to feel

Rather than simply choosing a fabric, we looked at the bigger picture.

Because the window wasn’t particularly tall and the room felt a little flat, I recommended fitting a Roman blind with a bespoke pelmet positioned just below the coving. This simple design trick draws the eye upwards, making the window appear taller and creating a much more elegant, considered look.

The result is a window treatment that feels as though it was designed specifically for the room rather than simply fitted to the window.

The beautiful fabric brings personality and interest to the space, while the pelmet adds structure and gives the room a more luxurious finish.

Watch until the end to see the final photo of the before image and the transformation for yourself.

If you’re looking at a room and thinking “I know it needs something, but I don’t know what” – that’s completely normal. Often the challenge isn’t choosing a blind or curtain; it’s knowing which solution will work best for your room, your lifestyle and the feeling you want to create.

Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference.

📩 If you’re struggling with a window in your home, send me a message and let’s explore the possibilities together.

The very first piece has arrived for my new home office… and I think she’s set the tone for the whole room 🤍

This beautiful sculptural chair was the first thing to be installed and already the space is starting to feel calm, layered and considered. I paired it with one of my vintage floor lamps and a one off handmade shade in a bold botanical print to add a little personality and contrast against the softer neutral backdrop.

One of the things I always say to clients is that a room doesn’t have to be finished to start feeling right. Sometimes it only takes one special piece to shape the direction of the whole scheme.

This room is still very much a work in progress, but I’m excited to finally be designing a space for myself for once.

Would you keep the room calm and neutral or add more colour as the scheme evolves?

There’s something really special about seeing one of our vintage lamps settled into its new home ✨

Our customer bought this beautiful vintage cut glass lamp with its brass and marble base from us at a recent fair. Once they had chosen the lamp, we worked with them to create a completely bespoke lampshade to suit their interior style and colour scheme perfectly.

The soft neutral shade complements the warm tones in the room beautifully and helps give the lamp a more contemporary feel while still keeping all of its original character.

This is one of the things we love most about what we do. Finding unique vintage pieces and then pairing them with handmade shades that make them feel truly personal to each customer and their home.

If you have a lamp you’d love updated, or are looking for something completely unique for your home, feel free to get in touch 🤍

There’s something really special about seeing our pieces in their new homes ✨

This beautiful customer photo features one of our lampshades in a vintage one-off fabric which complements the client’s unusual lamp perfectly.
It’s a lovely example of how a one-of-a-kind base and a thoughtfully chosen fabric can come together to create something truly personal.

If you’re looking for a unique lamp or a made-to-measure shade to work with your home, feel free to get in touch 😊

I’m really excited to share something a little new…

This beautiful sculptural floor lamp has such a lovely modern shape, but with an antique bronze effect finish that gives it that softer, timeless feel I’m always drawn to.

What makes it even more special is pairing it with one of my handmade shades. This one is a fresh botanical print, which adds just the right amount of pattern and brings the whole piece to life.

It’s the kind of piece that quietly transforms a corner and makes a room feel more considered and layered.

If you are interested in this lamp or something similar for your own home, just send me a message.

Anna Maria 😊

Just sharing another lamp ready for the antiques fair at Watford tomorrow.

It’s a lovely Midcentury small ceramic lava lamp which is double-bulbed and paired with a tall handmade conical shade in a soft neutral fabric. Finished with a delicate vintage trim for a subtle contrast. A really elegant piece that gives off a warm, ambient glow and perfect for adding character to a side table or cosy corner🤎
