Happy New Year, Everyone. Now the festivities are but a happy memory, you can look forward to a hopefully lovely new year. If you’re in the market for a special piece of bespoke furniture then you could do worse than to go down the resin and wood route. I have many different types of wood and any colour resin you want to make what I can guarantee to be a unique and beautiful piece. I’ve made dining tables, TV stands, chopping boards and beside lamp tables. I can also replace the surface on a piece of furniture you may already own such as sideboards and dressing tables. I’ve been busy doing band stuff and other work so it’s been nice to get back into doing wood stuff. This is a commission piece for someone who had seen my kitchen table made from scaffold boards, and wanted a computer table in the same style (very rustic!) It’s been sanded, stained with cold black tea (yes, Yorkshire tea bags!) then treated with a sanding sealer to give it a wipeable finish. It might not be everyone’s cup of coffee but this is what the customer wants. And that’s what they get, natch.

Well, although it looks like it’s been quiet here at Hellbent Woodturning, a few things have been going on behind the scenes.
I was pleased to be asked to make an oak cross for the family of someone who had passed quite a few years ago. They wanted a memorial for the grave. Of course I was happy to do this. Hope you like it.
