Art in care homes 💚
Please take a look at these!

All these pieces have been done by residents in various care homes 🥹
None are professionals, some have limited eyesight, some having to use their left hand instead, some have dementia, some struggle with fine detail, most say they were useless at art when they were younger.....the list goes on.

But wow, just wow 👌

All these beautiful pieces of artwork were achieved during my art sessions.
Simple step by step guidance, a limited colour palette, using household items to add fun (tin foil, balloons, plastic straws, forks, cotton buds, ruler, toothbrush) and a relaxing atmosphere all help to give the residents a huge sense of pride, achievement and wellbeing.

They never cease to amaze me - just brilliant 👏 👏👏

Had a fantastic therapeutic art session today with the residents, so positive and enjoyable......so much so I completely forgot to do my usual photos!!
So i managed to get ONE photo before I left.
Today we concentrated on colour and placement.
A beautiful red background, made from using 3 colours to give a patchy, tonal effect.
Brown twisted branches were added.
Then the fun began!
White blossoms were added wherever the resident wanted to, although I encouraged groups of 3 and not be too scared about going over the top of the brown branches.
Cotton buds were used to add white buds, then yellow centres 🌼
AI used to create me holding the ONE painting in my own made up world of red skies and blossoms 🖼
The residents all did exceptionally well today 👏👏👏

Another fantastic Sip & Paint night 🎨
Prosecco on arrival, a lovely warm welcome from our hosts at The Horse and Jockey 🥂
A mixed bunch of repeat customers, craft loving ladies and non painters...but didn't they all do well!? 👏.
Next event is Wednesday 23rd September at The Railway, Shenstone! 🖼
