Every week we sell hundreds of locally handmade, designed and crafted items as well as locally sourced good quality second-hand items to our large customer base. We have over 130 craft spaces and over 50 pre-loved spaces in our shop for individuals to rent and display their products, creating an amazing range of items for our customers to buy! WHAT ARE YOU BUYING FROM OUR PRE-LOVED SHOP?!

We get asked all the time… “What sells well?”

And honestly? Pretty much EVERYTHING!

Our best-performing sellers tend to have one thing in common: they pop in regularly to refresh, tidy and change their stock — sometimes twice a week or more. And our lovely regular customers are VERY good at spotting what’s new!

Clothes? Absolutely.
Bags & accessories? Yep.
Homeware? Always.
Seasonal goodies? Surprisingly, Halloween and Christmas sell all year round!
Vintage, retro, quirky and unusual finds? Bring them on!

Our customers range from students to grannies and everyone in between, so there really is no single “type” of thing that works.

And if you’re wondering about clothing sizes, ladies’ 16–18 is consistently one of our best-selling ranges.

⚙️🖤 WEEKEND AT THE ASYLUM IS HERE! 🖤⚙️

And honestly… this official Ministry of Steampunk plaque couldn’t be more US if it tried!

We’re all about imagining, creating, sharing, supporting independent makers, celebrating individuality and generally encouraging you to embrace your wonderfully eccentric side.

So naturally, when we saw this plaque, we knew it belonged in our window. 🖤

And now the Steampunk takeover is officially underway! Our shop is packed with weird, wonderful and gloriously eccentric steampunk treasures — and we’re open late so you’ve got plenty of time to come and rummage.

Tea time… but make it revolutionary.

When inspiration strikes, you grab it with both hands and stitch until your fingers practically fall off! And apparently, one cuppa with a friend was all it took for to start plotting…

Introducing the Dissident Tea Pots — inspired by the wonderfully eccentric English potters of the 1700s, these tiny teapot-shaped rebels are here to overthrow the aristocracy… one brew at a time!

Handstitched, embroidered, drawn and gloriously embellished with beads, each one is a tiny piece of textile mischief. Hang one in your kitchen, unleash it on your kettle and start the revolution from home.

⚙️🖤 Well, look who’s back… and straight into the Steampunk window! 🖤⚙️

Suzie Li Taxidermy has returned to the shop with her wonderfully delicate, beautifully unusual pieces — and obviously we couldn’t resist giving them prime position in our increasingly eccentric Steampunk window.

Because apparently our window wasn’t quite weird and wonderful enough yet.

Delicate, curious and just the right amount of delightfully macabre, Suzi’s pieces fit right in with the cogs, corsets, hats and glorious chaos that have taken over the shop.

Honestly… at this point, we’re not sure where the Steampunk display ends and the madness begins. ⚙️🖤

Arty Charli has taken recycling to a WHOLE new level!

Meet Cardboard Creations — the wonderfully imaginative little business where cardboard gets a seriously glamorous second life!

Charli is a very talented art teacher who transforms humble cardboard packaging into incredible 3D sculptures, wreaths and decorations. Every piece is handmade, completely bespoke and packed with personality.

Charli LOVES creating 3D art, and it absolutely shows in her work. Who knew cardboard could be this fabulous?!

Today’s new arrivals are Gladys the chicken and a gorgeous vase of flowers. Both made entirely from cardboard and both guaranteed to make you look twice!

Forget the recycling bin… Cardboard Creations is where cardboard goes to become ART. ❤️

We’re getting ready for the Steampunk Weekend at Asylum, and our windows are packed with all sorts of wonderful, curious and slightly eccentric treasures. Gears, goggles, gadgets, vintage finds, curiosities and plenty of things you definitely didn’t know you needed!
