Twenty years ago today I took over as owner of The Flower Shop. June is a special month for me, just after finishing my GCSEs and turning 16 in June 1991 I started full time employment at the shop which means this week I also celebrated 35 years in floristry 😲

I had no idea back then that I would take over the shop and end up dedicating my life to it.

So much has changed over the years but a lot has stayed the same, I have always sourced the best flowers I can, created the best floristy I can, give the best value for money, been the best employer I can be.

This has paid off because I have so many comments of how long our flowers last, we have many repeat customers and team members who have stayed with me for many years 😊

It certainly hasn't been easy but I'm glad that 35 years on I still love what I do ✂️💐
The Flower Shop wouldn't be here without the support of my loving family, amazing team, past and present and of course our wonderful customers ❤️ I would like to thank you all, from the bottom of my heart 💕

🐝Bee-utiful🐝
Kerry stepped out of her comfort zone to create this fitting tribute for her husband's Grandad, who was a Bee Keeper 🐝
Her idea was to create a very natural arrangement to depict Grandad's garden where he kept his bees. It was a joint effort as her husband made the Bee Hive on his 3D printer and added one of the honey lables and bees to finish off the the personal design.

These aren't all flowers we keep in stock but a prime example that we have access to so many flowers that we can choose from to achieve different styles. It isn't easy to create something that looks natural, well done Kerry 👏 🐝💛

Wedding season is in full swing now! 💕 This wedding was a pretty blush pink theme, we have a real mix of colours booked in this year so I can't really predict a trend.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for all our couples, this one was sweltering, maybe too hot 🥵

She goes to look at more flowers!!!

I had a wonderful morning looking at all the amazing floral displays at the Flower Festival at Chichester Cathedral 🌸🌻🌺🌷
It's well worth the visit. So much work must have gone into the planning and creation of these beautiful arrangements 😊 It was very inspiring, even after 35 years in floristry I am always learning.

Spot the vegetable!! 🥕🍅🥦🥔🥒🫜🫛
This spray was a joy to create. As well as a celebration of flowers it contained a wealth of vegetables. The brief was for the whole thing to have a garden feel so I needed to select both flowers and veg that didn't look too commercial.

As well as being a fitting tribute for a gentleman who loved growing his own produce this spray kept giving. I was thrilled to hear from the lady who ordered it that it was taken to the wake and everyone enjoyed seeing how many vegetables they could spot 👀, but also later it was taken apart and made two big vases of flowers and 10 portions of vegetable curry! 🍛 😀

I put a lot of love into the tributes I create, to hear feedback like this fills me with so much joy 🥰

Janice has done an amazing job painting our windows with tropical flowers 🌺, leaves🌿, butterflies 🦋 and the star of the show a Tucan!!
