‼️‼️BIG NEWS‼️‼️The Roscoe Street music festival is coming in September!!!

A weekend of live music and creative events centered around Roscoe Street in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter. Discover the independent and alternative side of Liverpool's grassroots scene.

Over 40 artists performing live over 3 days and 6 venues within 1/4 mile, with solo artists & bands of all genres including acoustic, jazz, folk, hardcore, electronic, rock, bluegrass, punk, dance, fusion, indie and everything in between.

Creative activities from Pigeon Presents crafts, Clay workshop, and Bold Place Studios. Alternative performances from innovative multi disciplinary artists.

Music industry networking event with a panel of professionals and opportunities to meet collaborators and colleagues.

Thursday 6th: Common Folk Collective - free casual gathering and trad session - bring songs, instruments, poems, stories, or just yourself!

Friday 7th: Open Mic night - sign ups from 7pm all genres welcome!

Saturday 8th: Staged Static presents: Rent boy, supported by Dead Elvis and Deviant Order opening.

A busy week ahead at artefact!

Monday: La Souriante Madame Beudet is the second in a series of live silent film screenings presented by José Dias with improvised music with Jasna Jovicevic (saxophone) and Adam Fairhall (accordion).

Tuesday: Paraphysis presents the Al Pacino movie Cruising as part of their season 'Meat rack'.

Wednesday: our regular Big Quiz with the fabulous Jack & Jake.

This summer José Dias will be curating a series of live silent film screenings with improvised music, bringing early cinema into the present through sound. 

Acoss three nights he'll be joined by an incredible lineup of musicians from the UK, Spain and Serbia, each bringing their own voice to the films.

18th May - Battleship Potemkin (Einstein) with Pablo Sonaillon (bass). 

15th June - La Souriante Madame Beudet (Dulac) Jasna Jovicevic (saxophone) and Adam Fairhall (accordion)

20th July - Man with a Movie Camera (Vertov) with Pete Furniss (saxophone) and Henry McPhearson (fx) 

Three films. Three different ensembles. Three completely unique performances. 

Each night features live improvised accompaniment. No fixed score, no repetition, just musicians responding in real time to the film.

Liverpool folks: come experience these films the way they were meant to be - alive, unstable, and different every time.
