I’m so excited about this new book by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater. It’s one of the ‘Leaf Thief’ series and it’s all about pumpkins!! 🎃

It’s our book for Story & Craft this week and we’ll be making crafting pumpkins to go with it! So if you have a story lover or little crafter at home, come along and join us 🎃

I thought I’d show you some of the gorgeous craft materials I’ve got for the Autumn Garland Workshop coming up in a couple of weeks 🤩

The good thing about being able to see crafting potential in all sorts of materials (also known as hoarding 😆) is that when I wanted to make wire sculptures in school Craft Club this week I handily had off cuts of wood that I could saw into 52 sculpture bases!! Plus 4 holes in each piece and voila, they’re ready for crafting!

And look what the crafters made, aren’t they fab?! 🤩

They chose the pipe cleaners and beads and then decorated and assembled them as they wanted. It didn’t have to look like anything particular, it was just about having fun with the materials. I first saw this craft ideas years ago on Pinterest when my kids were little and have done it lots of times at home over the years. But this is the first time I’ve done it with 52 crafters in one week! But the kids loved it, it’ll definitely come back to this one again 🙌🏻

Happy October!!🍁🍂 I’ve got several Autumn craft classes coming up this month at Bean There Coffee Shop

🧶 Autumn Garland Workshop - Wednesday 21st Oct 7-9pm

Invite your friends, your Mum, your teens and enjoy an evening catching up and crafting together. And make a beautiful garland to take home 🙌🏻🧶

There will be beautiful felts, gorgeous fabrics and of course, cake! The ticket price includes all the materials you need as well and templates and instructions and a free hot drink. All Bean There’s usual delicious bakes will be available to buy as well.

It’s back! Our annual family pumpkin decorating event is back for another year! You bring the pumpkins and I’ll bring the craft materials. Perfect for the whole family.

Half Term Halloween crafting for your little crafter. Perfect for ages 3yrs + and adult supervision required. Why not treat yourself to a coffee and cake while your little one gets creative?

I’m a little bit in love with this Elmer from my Story & Craft class this morning 😍 I coloured some of him in and left the rest blank and then dotted coloured squares of card around the room for the little crafters to find. They collected them all up and stuck them on to ‘colour Elmer in’. He looks so cute!!

My big kids used to love Elmer. It was such a joy to read it again this morning 🥰

An oldie but a goodie- we’re reading Elmer at Story & Craft class this week and making milk bottles into Elmers!

If you have a little one at home on Mondays or Fridays we’d love you to come and join us for stories, songs and crafts.

We meet at the studio at JG Health and Wellness, liverpool, next to The Tavern on Smithdown Road and the sessions are an hour long.

Tickets cost £7.50 and only the child whose crafting needs a ticket: adults and baby siblings are free.

Perhaps one of my best school Craft Club crafts yet! The kids were so engrossed in making their maps and also unexpectedly tidy with the cups of rice - well done little crafters 👏👏

If you have a little crafter at home I’d definitely recommend giving this a go. Tip a handful of rice onto the page, sprinkling it across the page if you can, but you can also flatten it and spread it out a bit with your hands. Draw around the rice, the stray pieces of rice will create tiny islands and the gaps in the middle will be lakes. Once you’ve finished drawing round the rice carefully pour the rice back into the cup and start adding the details…beaches, mountains, volcanoes, villages, trees and of course, X marks the spot! 🪎
