Life on the farm so far this month...
πΌ This is the face of someone who was delighted to finally see some rain! ππ§οΈππ»
πΌ What a show off! Isn't she a beaut of a dahlia. She also seems to be less appetising to the bugs than some of the other varieties, so we like her even more!
πΌ We were delighted to find this little visitor last month - it's an elephant hawk moth caterpillar.
πΌ Harvesting has continued throughout August, albeit in smaller volumes than we'd normally get (thanks to the weather!)
πΌ We're trying to collect more of our own seed this year. If this is something you're interested in you might want to check out my article for The Flower Farmer Magazine!
πΌThe field is full of bumblebees, and we love it π₯°
πΌ Spot the flower farmers! It becomes harder to find each other when the plants are taller than us!
πΌ We've been busy harvesting flowers for drying whilst the sun shines. These strawflowers will come in really useful for wreaths, bouquets and other lovely things in the autumn and winter.
