Hello folks ❤️ just a wee check in! And an update. Some of you will know I’m at the end of doing an honours degree in childhood studies. I’ve been a busy bee with my studies which will carry on into April when my dissertation is due. Once this is over I will be back to doing fayres again. I did anticipate to be able to start this month but I’ve been too overwhelmed with work it will have to be the end of April into May before I’m back properly.

I’m still taking orders on my website or by message as I deliver by hand locally or post uk wide. Please feel free to message if you can’t see your favourite scent as I’ve not been able to fully restock but I can still make to order.

I do have some beautiful fragrances in the pipeline for summer and I can’t wait to be back out and see you all again! Love and hugs D ###

Hello everyone sorry I’ve been AWOL! Life is so busy just now but I’m I’m still here working away with orders and trying to get new stock ready for the spring.

I’ve got a limited list of wax melts in stock right now so I’ll make a list of what I do have! Very few Reed diffuser scents and a fair bit of candles though. A stock list will be coming ASAP ❤️

So I’ve been asked this many times - “why does Aldi sell candles for £5 and you charge £28?”

My answer is always, you can’t compare mass produced, usually in China with handmade one of a kind.

All my candles are lovingly made by myself in my home kitchen in very small batches. This is done to ensure that all my candles are created the same way and my recipes are executed as they should, giving a high quality candle, that burns as it should and smells beautifully.

Candlemaking is an art, it started off a very long time ago made my hand, lovingly and has somehow turned into a mass produced production line. Consumerism has taken over this craft and many more and small chandlers like myself are often forced to compete with Aldi and Asda and tk maxx. How can we? And more importantly why would you want us to?

If you want low quality wax combined with chemical smelling fragrance, made in a machine who hasn’t got the human instinct to know when something isn’t right, then be my guest folks. But quality speaks, hand crafted products speak for themselves, I no longer feel the need to explain my price difference but I thought I’d share today the difference in the quality why I do what I do.

A well made candle should not smoke or cause your candle to stain black (although this can happen with a well made one if you do t take care of it!) You should not be left with lots of wax around the sides of the candle and it definitely should not be hard to smell the candle burning, a chemical type smell is also common with cheap candles with a ‘chip pan oil’ smell often present.

This isn’t what you should expect and sadly it’s what you get for such a cheap price. High quality is not cheap, candles are indeed luxury items that should be respected and appreciated for the amount of time and work that goes into creating a well- made one. ❤️

An example of my Whipped Candles being made - a long process speeded up for you shows the various stages to make this candle. One of my favourite ones to make and more scents will be coming this year!

The scent is grounded on a luxurious base of amber, cedar, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk.
