Nearly a year after the Eaton Fire changed Altadena forever, the oak trees still stand 🌿 The debris is gone. The homes are foundations and driveways now. But the trees remain — and after the rains, fresh leaves and grass are rising again. There’s still a quiet lushness here. Still that peace.

It’s what draws the “Alta-Dreamers” in — the misty mornings, the shade, the small-town magic tucked into the foothills of northeast LA.

That’s exactly what happened to Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith back in June 2020, when they toured a 1931 Spanish Colonial Revival on a whim.

“We walked in and were like, ‘Whoa, is this our next move?’”

Five years later — after renovating, rebuilding, and believing — it was. ✨

Creating client visualisations is one of our favourite parts of the design process. It’s where ideas begin to feel real — allowing clients to truly imagine the full potential of their home before anything is built. Through thoughtful use of colour, tone, light and spatial flow, these visualisations help bring clarity to how a space will feel as well as how it will function.

They create confidence in decisions, spark excitement, and transform abstract concepts into a clear, cohesive vision of a home that feels intentional, balanced and deeply personal.

Design within historic buildings can bend time itself—simultaneously honouring the past while projecting into the future. ✨ At New York’s iconic Rockefeller Apartments, interior designer Armando Aguirre and architect Nicholas Potts allowed the building’s International Style heritage to lead the narrative, reimagining a combined two-bedroom apartment with sensitivity and intent. Completed in 1937 and commissioned by John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Nelson Rockefeller, the building reflects early Bauhaus influence through architect Wallace Harrison—proof that even spaces once designed for modest living can evolve beyond their original physical limits.

While house hunting for his next project, Brandon Schubert stumbled upon a flat on the same street — with the exact layout as his former home. A rare second chance to refine, reimagine, and elevate: more detail, richer finishes, bolder furnishings, better lighting. The result? A beautifully layered interior that balances traditional elegance with modern ease — formal yet relaxed.

Perched high on a hill just shy of the Arctic Circle, Olly’s rustic log cabin—Bear’s Nest—sits quietly within the forests of silver birch and black spruce in Swedish Lapland.

Nestled in Outavaara, a sacred Sami place said to be “where anything can happen,” it’s a landscape defined by stillness, spirit and raw beauty. First discovered during an Arctic expedition in the late ’90s, this remote wilderness became a lifelong source of inspiration—home to roaming reindeer, moose, wolves and bears, and the backdrop to countless journeys, artworks, and even our wedding, celebrated here in an ancient Swedish ceremony.

A place that feels both grounding and otherworldly ✨

What began as a simple dinner date in Chicago turned into a spontaneous house-hunting adventure—and a fresh start in Lincoln Park. Ann and Scott instantly fell in love with a home that reminded them of NYC’s West Village, but its staged interiors didn’t reflect their story. With the help of Lauren Buxbaum Gordon of Nate Berkus Associates, they began transforming it into something with real soul, personality, and perspective. ✨🏡

✨ Coffee Table Styling Tips✨
Transform your living room with a few simple styling tricks:

1. Start with a tray – It anchors the look and keeps things feeling intentional, not cluttered.
2. Mix heights – Stack books, add a tall vase, and balance with a low bowl for visual interest.
3. Bring in greenery – A small plant or fresh flowers instantly softens the space.
4. Use beautiful books – Coffee table books add personality and act as mini sculptures.
5. Layer textures – Ceramic, glass, wood, and metal pieces create depth and richness.
6. Add something personal – A travel find, a small artwork, or an object that tells your story.
7. Keep breathing room – Edit until the table feels curated, not crowded.
