Selfhood | Photo Exhibition

7–22 June 2025

Chloi Kountouridou is a multidisciplinary artist. Her practice predominantly focuses on documentary photography and video, often using analogue mediums and techniques to create intimate and observational narratives.

Gian Maitelli is a contemporary photographer. By observing the sensibility in the ordinary and the quotidian, Maitelli’s photographic vision captures street moments with a humanistic and poetic approach.

Huseyin Ovayolu studied Photography and Video. He was among the first participants of the Documentary Photography School organized by the Photography Foundation. Through photography, he seeks to narrate personal histories and collective memory.

Nacho Rivera is a photographer and educator. His work has been published in books and magazines such as The British Journal of Photography, The Telegraph Luxury Magazine, The Times, AD Magazine, House and Garden and GQ Magazine.

Semra Diana Halipoglu is a visual artist specializing in photography. Her practice explores themes of identity, mythology, and the hidden structures of consciousness, often constructing handmade scenes that merge tactile materiality with symbolic narratives.

Seren Sarapcıoglu is a visual artist whose work navigates the fragile territories between memory, identity, nature, and existence. Working primarily with photography, she transforms her images through subtle manipulations, bending the familiar into the unfamiliar.

Yigit Gunel is a multidisciplinary photographer whose work centres around people-based stories, captured through a meticulous approach to lighting and a focus on authenticity. He has expanded his practice to include Cult Creative Meet-ups, a platform for artists and creatives in East London to connect and openly discuss the mental health challenges within the creative industry.

Curator Dr Nilay Islek is an artist, academic, and curator. ISLEK has taught photography in various institutions over the years and actively participated in documentary, conceptual, and cross-cultural projects. She is the first female photographer from Turkey to be awarded the title of “X-Photographer” by Fujifilm. .islek

Combining printmaking with photographs and drawings, Valentina’s intention has always been and is to create an intuitive connection with the heart of the image observer. The practice has been evolving from a morbid dialogue between her family past and experiences to a composition of abstract elements and urban landscapes. Pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking and applying it also to unconventional surfaces, her work combines hand drawn elements and photographs using a variety of intaglio and planographic techniques.

Her practice is mainly concerned with the themes of shifting identity, home and belonging, as well as experience of living in a female body; with a strong participatory element and often involving audience interaction in the creation of the work.

🎴Jaco Putker is a contemporary artist and printmaker from The Hague, The Netherlands. He combines traditional techniques with modern technology to produce images which are both playful and sinister, nostalgic and magical.
His preferred medium is photopolymer, or solar plate, etching. This technique is a non-toxic way of etching which allow for photorealistic depictions.

“Future Primitive” Opening Night Highlights!
