Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole
Ingredients
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus extra for topping)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken soup)
1/2 cup milk
1 bag (about 28 oz) frozen French fries
Optional toppings: diced pickles, ketchup, mustard, or sliced tomatoes
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.
Prepare the Casserole Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, milk, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Casserole:
In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly across the bottom.
Layer the frozen French fries on top of the beef mixture, spreading them out evenly.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the French fries are golden brown and crispy.
Add Toppings:
Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle additional cheese on top if desired. Return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Top with optional toppings like diced pickles, ketchup, mustard, or sliced tomatoes if desired.
