we're getting a Japanese restaurant next door and, as a pregnant woman whose current personality is mostly food-related, I'm very excited about that! 😂🍜

Anyway... this is a little bit of a rant. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, maybe it's the weather, but it's something that's been bothering me.

As a small business, we proudly offer free consultations and free measuring services. We love helping people and we're always happy to give advice.

But while they're free for our customers, they're not free for us.

What I completely understand is someone getting a quote and deciding it isn't right for them. That's life.

What I struggle with is when someone asks us to come out, spends time discussing options, has us measure everything up, tells us they'll come into the showroom to choose fabrics (or arrange for us to bring samples out), and then never does. Instead, they decide to go elsewhere before we've even had the chance to provide a quote.

Not because of our price.Not because of our service.Simply because we were never given the opportunity.

Am I being oversensitive, or do other small business owners understand where I'm coming from?

Current mood: sitting in my shop in 30° heat folding fabric while everyone else is out enjoying BBQs, pub gardens and sunshine ☀️😂

Honestly… I don’t blame them. I wouldn’t exactly be thinking “you know what sounds fun today? Buying blinds.”

Then I started reminiscing about this time last year when I was in Marbella in a bikini… compared to my current side profile now 🤰🤣
Safe to say things look a little different this summer, although I wouldn’t change it for the world 💛
