This fabulous steel, stone and wood kitchen is in Balham. The homeowners have a magnificent space at the rear of their townhouse allowing for natural light to play off the variety of surfaces. The tall units feature a 22mm door finished in Oxidised Liquid Metal. This is a one-of-a-kind hand-crafted product achieved through a gloss and steel-effect coating process. Light scratches add to the industrial feel, creating movement and catching reflections.
The middle doors slide back to reveal a recess with drawers, our client is using this as a morning coffee station. The steel is perfectly balanced by the inclusion of natural stone and wood.
The worktop is Golden Lucido from , cut and fitted, so the veins run consistently through the entire worktop. The wood-front doors and drawer fronts are crafted from Noce Canaletto sequence-matched wood veneer, this is where veneer sheets are cut sequentially from the same log and applied in a specific order across multiple panels. This technique gives a consistent grain pattern and colour continuity, creating a uniform and harmonious appearance.
All the units have either recessed handles or push & pull devices, giving the kitchen a slick, minimalistic feel.
We matched the wood of the "floating" breakfast bar with the window seat and separate shelving (used to partition off a snug), which brings warmth and a sense of purposeful continuity to the space.
