Studio Flore Lesca

Studio Flore Lesca Art and interior design studio. Where bold and playful meets delicate and sober, but always fantastical by nature. That is the beauty of being, and creativity.

Studio Flore Lesca designs and creates its own brand of stationery, decorative objects and furnishings for the home as well as the hospitality sector. It also offers interior design services for both sectors, from a quick consultation on paint colours to managing the procurement side of a project, to the final install. We are ever evolving, and as such so does our artistic style and creative endeavours. We celebrate spontaneity, imperfections and the accidental. We play with various mediums, embracing the twists and turns and the challenges each of them bring, allowing them to direct our creative journey and projects. The connecting thread to our creative output is a balance between chaos and order, where bold and playful meets delicate and sober, but always fantastical by nature. Our inspiration comes from a variety of sources - from naturally occurring patterns, textures and colours found in nature and urban environments (we have a particular fascination with industrial decay) to the more opulent decorative styles found in Islamic and Asian art and textiles. In contrast, we also draw inspiration from the simpler, angular and geometric style seen in Bauhaus design.

: inspired by the cascading, moss-covered rock formation (Árbol de Navidad) which resembles a giant textured tree or natural sculpture directly on the cliff face of the Cañón del Sumidero.

: my least favourite so far...there's something about human(y) figures that I generally have an aversion to adding in my paintings. It somehow takes away from the magic.

: two serpents rising, neither needing to overpower the other.

Some things aren’t asking to be resolved. They’re asking to be held — opposing truths, different currents, contradictions themselves.

And somewhere in learning to hold both, space opens.

Transformation isn’t becoming someone new; it's shedding what has become too small for who we are becoming.

: What strikes me looking at the three paintings together is that nothing actually disappears.

The same strange forms, lines, colours and energies are still there, but their relationship to one another has changed.

The first feels compressed. The second, entangled. And in the third, finally, there is space. Things have found somewhere to belong.

This is what integration has come to mean to me: reorganisation.

The same material, in a new relationship with itself.

And somehow, what once felt like chaos begins to reveal its own intelligence.

: I was glued to my watercolour pad the other day/evening, and tonight! Something different comes alive when you limit yourself to a set of materials. In this case, watercolour, and black ink on paper.
