This hasn’t been an easy decision.
The truth is that the world has changed, and it’s become harder and harder for small, independent businesses like ours to survive. Between Brexit, the ongoing financial crisis, and the lack of real support for small businesses, doing things ethically and sustainably stopped being viable.
Real beeswax became increasingly difficult to source as small apiaries closed under the same pressures. At the same time, big brands flooded the market with cheap, mass-produced candles, and in a cost-of-living crisis, choosing environmentally conscious products simply isn’t realistic for many people and we completely understand that.
On top of this, social media no longer feels like a place for connection or creativity. It’s become exhausting, noisy, and transactional, and we don’t want to keep fighting for attention in a space that no longer aligns with who we are.
So we’ve decided to close BzzWax and step away.
We’re still accepting orders until tomorrow, before the website is permanently shut down. After that, this chapter will come to an end.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us, believed in what we were trying to do, and chose our candles over the years. It meant more than you know.
Thank you for being here, for as long as it made sense.
